We're going to get dumped on--again!

Yep, there's more snow in the forecast. It's supposed to start tomorrow and continue through Friday. Total they're thinking will be 7-15 inches with more wind so more drifts. We still only have one lane in some areas of our neighborhood! At least we got snow boots for the boys last weekend so their feet won't get wet this time. Robin still doesn't have snow pants (couldn't find any). Gotta love Colorado!

I just now heard about this on the news and you were the first person I thought of. I hope it's not as bad as the forcast says it will be.

By Tonya on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 - 11:49 am:

Man I wish they would send it this way. I am so disappointed that we saw no Christmas lights in snow this year. That is my favorite part of the season is the beauty of the lites under the snow.

Good luck to you and the family!!!

By Marcia on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 - 12:01 pm:

It's snowing here today, but just some light flurries. Is looks like there might be an inch on the ground. We have had such a mild December, but did have some snow in November. I'd be ok if we didn't get any more snow this winter.
Good luck with your latest storm!

By Kernkate on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 - 01:52 pm:

Wow Cat, you are really getting it. We had an inch here today but we have been really lucky here in NE PA. Very mild winter this year! And I am not complaining!

By Mom2three1968 on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 - 03:34 pm:

I'd take some if that were possible!!!

By Hol on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 - 05:22 pm:

Wow! It has been so warm here for December. We were just saying how nice it has been not to have to give so much money to the oil man. However, when I got home from work late this afternoon I was picking up dog "cookies" (LOL) in the yard and filling the bird feeders, and I noticed that it is getting MUCH colder. However, here in southern New England, the only real snowy months are January and February. If it does snow in March, it doesn't hang around. When I was a kid, Decembers were a lot colder and snowier (and we walked ten miles to school, up hill, through the snow, with no coat....LOL just kidding. I think that EVERY parent and grandparent says that, tho. :))

Michigan had a green Christmas! Send some our way!

Cat, I've heard that Denver is supposed to get 18" tomorrow. Are all of you safe and comfortable? Please let us know. {{{Warm Hugs}}}

By Nicki on Friday, December 29, 2006 - 05:11 am:

That is a lot of snow. I hope all of you are doing okay.

By Cat on Friday, December 29, 2006 - 09:27 am:

We're fine. I don't know how much we've gotten so far, but the forecast is saying 16-32" between now and Sunday. It started snowing yesterday morning at about 10am and hasn't stopped, but it hasn't been a real heavy snow. The wind started blowing yesterday afternoon and got really bad during the night. The end of our street is drifted over again. The mom of the two boys that almost got stuck here last week called about 10 minutes ago and said she's not bringing the boys this morning, but she's really got a lot to do so could she bring them this afternoon if it lets up? Sure, if. Denver has really gotten dumped on. We are east of Colorado Springs and are considered "the eastern plains" so we'll get a little more than the Springs will. I need to check the basement for snow. Some blew in last week (under a board that wasn't properly sealed--the builder will be fixing it but didn't get to it this week). I was told to check the attic, too. Remember last week when I said our grill blew over twice? I mentioned that to our neighbor and he said, "Well if you'd just left it down it would have only blown over once." Well he's right and this time I'm just leaving it down! lol Yep, it blew over again. They had said long term forecast had another storm coming next week. I don't know if that's changed or not. I may have two kids (my 'other' children) today. Their parents are chiropractors with their own business and the mom and I are really good friends. She told me the other day they really can't afford to lose another day of business. I know some of their patients will show up today, no matter the weather (there are some real cowboys out here that won't let a little snow stop them! lol). I guess I'll just wait and see.

So for now it's all good. Dh picked up a couple gallons of milk yesterday. The stores have been out all week because they missed deliveries because of the storm last week and people have been stocking up for this one. Dh and I were at Safeway last night to pick up an RX and the milk, bread and eggs were wiped out. The produce section was almost bare, too. We're not going to starve or freeze. So we'll just sit back and watch it snow and enjoy it. :)

Hope you guys sit tight!!
Cat, did I tell you we might be moving back to CO? Scott is looking heavily at jobs in the Lakewood and Springs area!!! We're also looking for houses too...fun fun fun!!!

By Cat on Friday, December 29, 2006 - 01:18 pm:

You mentioned it, Heidi. Let me know if you end up this way, even just to look at houses. We'll get together. :)

Karen, just look at the pics I posted last week. It's just more of the same...

Wow, that's a lot of snow. I can't believe how warm it's been in WI this year. We have no snow at all and the temp, even during the night, was in the 40's.

By Mom2three1968 on Saturday, December 30, 2006 - 11:13 am:

I'll say that's alot of snow, as I've mentioned before, this part of the country misses the snow most of the time, although we did get a couple of inches in the beginning of December when we had the ice storm as well. I would love to have more! We always buy boots for the kids every year and if they get to use them for one snow fall they are lucky! They are still using the same snow pants from a few years ago because they are in decent shape and not too short, and why buy boots, pants and all of that when chances are it will be a waste of money, lol!! But they did have fun so far...
