My DH and DD did the black balloons/black decorations thing.Another friend did that,too,but went way out.Her DH had a coffin at the party,and everyone was instructed to wear black.

One of our good friends turned 40 last week. His wife planned a whole, be a kid day, they played putt putt and she rented a bounce house for the party. We all brought him a gift of 40 of something. We brought 40 guitar picks, someone brought 40 packages of ramen noodles, there were 40 golf balls, 40 balloons, etc. I will use that idea for my hubby in a few years!

My dh turns 40 in 3 months, and I asked him today how he feels about that, and he said, "Fine, as long as the ticker still works!"

Sorry, I have no ideas. Our 40th birthdays came and went a few years ago without fan fare. Just the usual cards, practical gifts and out to dinner.
