I am most excited about a gift we got our youngest DS (10). He loves the children's author/illustrator Steven Kellogg (Pinkerton, Jimmy and the Boa, The Mysterious Tadpole, etc.). I found out through his website that he'll autograph a book with the child's name and draw a little cartoon too. DS has no idea and I am sure he'll be thrilled!

P.S. Oldest DS is getting Cosmic Catch

By Insaneusmcwife on Saturday, December 9, 2006 - 04:20 pm:

I just bought the Cosmic Catch at Target. Its on sale for 19.99. I saw it at KB Toys for 29.00 a couple weeks ago and didn't think he would like it but our nighbor has one so now ds wants one, lol.

By Reds9298 on Saturday, December 9, 2006 - 04:46 pm:

Pam - I met Steven Kellogg about 20 years ago when I was young! He autographed a book for me and I talked with him. It might have been at a young author's conference I went to...I wrote stories ALL the time then. That's a cool gift!!!

Hhmmm...only have a 2 1/2yr. old but her "coolest" gifts are Baby Alive, a swing for baby, and My First Dollhouse by Fisher-Price. the toilet lid opens and closes in the dollhouse and she's going to FLIP for that! :)LOL

By Kate on Saturday, December 9, 2006 - 05:17 pm:

What is Cosmic Catch?? Target's site didn't describe it well. A talking ball that knows your throw?? What does that mean?

By Luvn29 on Saturday, December 9, 2006 - 09:03 pm:

Kate, I had never before heard of it, but I looked it up on Amazon because they always have a good description. It is a ball that comes with rubber bands that players wear, and it can recognize them to give directions on who to throw the ball to, etc. I guess there are several different games you can play with it...

I am excited about Santa bringing my seven year old the 2 1/2 foot interactive pirate ship from Pirates of the Caribbean, along with some figures for play. He will be so excited. I am also super excited to have found three brand new figures from Ben 10 (a fairly new cartoon) today on Toysrus.com for him. They only come out with a few toys at a time for this show, so he thinks these new ones haven't come out yet. I've been watching for them because these are the toys he plays with most right now...

Emily has kind of grown out of toys, but I got her a digital camera and printer dock combo that she will be so excited about. The printer doesn't have to be connected to a computer so she can keep it in her room and use it. She will be so surprised because she has told me several times she wants to go look at digital cameras and I keep refusing, telling her she has to be older and more responsible for one.

Pam, that is so cool! I want a book autographed by him! I was always checking Steven Kellogg books from the library, when my kids were little!

My kids don't get toys anymore. They are too big!

Katie really wants the barbie dream house and some pixel chicks stuff.I got her everything she wanted this year :) I'm so excited for her,she is so excited right now.Oh,to be a kid again......

By Melanie on Sunday, December 10, 2006 - 12:12 am:

Our kids are getting Cosmic Catch, too! :)

The coolest for the boys, hands down, will be the PS3. They are not expecting it and will be completely shocked to find it under the tree.

I think Peyton will think her cowgirl boots and hat are the coolest. They are pink (of course). She wants new ones to wear to Grandma and Grandpa's farm. :)

By Bellajoe on Sunday, December 10, 2006 - 10:56 am:

:( Nothing very exciting here.
I got dd a jewelry box and clothes so far. And have not gotten ds anything.

I think dh got us a iPod, so that will be exciting to all of us since we listen to music all the time.

Maybe I will get ds the cosmic catch thing (it sounds like fun) and some more legos.
He just had a birthday so i don't know what to get him, since he got nice stuff for that.

Melanie, you've got to take a picture of her with the cowgirl boots and hat, and post it here, that sounds adorable!

By Bellajoe on Sunday, December 10, 2006 - 10:58 am:

HA maybe not. I just checked out Cosmic Catch on Amazon.com and it's $54.99! That's a lot of money for a ball and some rubberbands.
Maybe i will look at Target.

We got the boys a computer. They are going to be so excited. Our desk top died about 9 months ago. We got a free upgrade on the monitor, so it has a 19" flat screen. They are going to love it.

By Brandy on Sunday, December 10, 2006 - 11:44 am:

Target and Kmart have the cosmic catch for $19.99

By Brandy on Sunday, December 10, 2006 - 11:45 am:

I'm posting on my new computer now = ) woohoo = )

By Bellajoe on Sunday, December 10, 2006 - 11:57 am:

I just checked at my target and they are out of the cosmic catch. Target.com is out of it too. oh well. I'm not going to run all around town for it. Its' no big deal.

We might end up getting the kids a small t.v. for the playroom. We'll see.

By Dawnk777 on Sunday, December 10, 2006 - 06:51 pm:

Debbie, I would love a 19" flat screen monitor! Would that be considered a toy?

We have toyed with the idea of getting a new tv, since the one in our basment acts up every now and then.

By Andi on Sunday, December 10, 2006 - 09:46 pm:

Taylor is getting a Step 2 Pink Power Racer from Santa and Dylan is getting a few new video games for his Gameboy from Santa.

By Heaventree on Sunday, December 10, 2006 - 09:55 pm:

Matthew is getting a Helicopter and a Black and Decker toy workbench with all the tools. He'll lose his mind when he sees it. I asked DH to set it up in the basement and we'll wrap the empty box so he can play with it right away.

I have no idea what to get Cameron. :( and I'm running out of time. Toy R Us here I come!

By Paulas on Monday, December 11, 2006 - 12:55 am:

I can't believe we did this but we got DS a dirt bike. We got a really great deal on it. I wish it was from us and not Santa....I want the credit! :)

By Luvn29 on Monday, December 11, 2006 - 07:52 am:

Paula, I am laughing so hard right now because I said the same thing! The kids always get these awesome things from Santa and I don't get a bit of the credit! LOL! I know that isn't why we are supposed to be doing it, but wouldn't it be nice to have the kids think WE are the cool ones!?!

This year, I got Emily the digital camera/printer dock and Ashton the Nintendo DS that they both want so much! I said, Santa's not getting the credit for these, so I got them something else from Santa this year! LOL! I'm so bad!!!

By Bellajoe on Monday, December 11, 2006 - 07:50 pm:

I got ds the mini Robosapien today. He was asking for a Toy Robot for Christmas and I think he'll like this a lot.
