Shipping cold stuff

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive November 2006: Shipping cold stuff
By Amyk on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 - 01:40 pm:

Does anyone know where I can get the supplies to ship something that needs to stay cold? I know that I'll need to overnight it - but where can I get the gel packs to freeze and the insulated box?

Thanks~

I would call a UPS store and see if they sell those things or have any ideas. I know my MIL sends us salmon that way since she lives in Seattle.

Try a store that sells camping gear.
You could also use dry ice. I'm pretty sure Wal-mart carries it.

We recently had lei's shipped in from Hawaii. There were little gel packs all around them. It looked like something you could buy at walmart.

Dry ice can be dangerous. Make sure you check with the company you are shipping with and see what their rules are on that.
