Any ideas for something for a child to bring to a grave site?

We have a funeral to go to on Monday and I am taking the kids. The location is where DH's mother is buried. Sydney and DH talk about her often and he would like to bring Sydney to the grave. I would like to think of something to bring. Should I just let Syd buy her a flower? I thought about asking Sydney, but it would be a coin toss as what she would want to bring. LOL

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.:)

I say ask her and then if need be help her narrow it to something doable along the lines of whatever it is she says.

My DD Katie loves to bring flowers when we go visit my dads grave.

We take all kinds of things to my dad's grave. I would let her decide. Sometimes we take flowers, stuffed animals, angel figurines, glass dragonflies, etc.

When the kids "G.G" Great Grandmother died they took a bouquet of silk flowers to the site. We made it ourselves and attached pictures of the kids with her on the back of the bouquet. The kids also took 2 balloons and attached a note to each one written to G.G and released them at her grave.

We visit graves often, and my kids have always brought flowers. Sometimes silk, and sometimes real. They love to pic out their own special flowers to leave at the grave of someone special to us. They are always so proud of the flowers that they leave. We always tell them how much the person will love them.

We also release balloons a lot. Everywhere we go the kids are getting free balloons. They annoy me, lol. When we get home, the kids go in the driveway and send a message to heaven. They just say the message to themselves, then let the balloon go.
