Free On-line TV/Movies/Cartoons For Kids?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive November 2006: Free On-line TV/Movies/Cartoons For Kids?
By Heaventree on Tuesday, October 31, 2006 - 12:43 pm:

Does anyone know where I can get free movies or t.v. shows on line for kids?

I don't have a dvd player on the computer, any idea how much they are?

TIA

Are you looking for downloads? Or just to watch online?

www.noggin.com

Natalie watches shows on their occasionally, but loves their short (2 min. or less usually) music videos and segments from her favorite shows. I believe you need a broadband connection to see those though.

Breann,

Doesn't really matter, I just wanted something to put on for Matthew to watch while I make lunch or dinner, he's into everything these days!

Thanks Deanna, but because I don't live in the US they won't let me watch those shows, I'm not sure how they know where I am but they do. Spooky!

We have our own network here called Treehouse, they have 2 mins. videos with many of the same shows.

Heaventree~ I was going to suggest Nick Jr. or Noggin, those are both satellite channels my kids watch, and have interesting things on their website. Since you can't access them, I am not sure what else is out there, but I wanted to let you know they can tell what country you are in by your IP. I can even tell what city/state/country visitors to my site are from, so it's not surprising that the site knew, but it is surprising they blocked it. Very odd, I just assumed that Nick and it's affiliates were international, since they are owned by Universal Studios.

Here's another option...http://www.archive.org/details/animationandcartoons

They have old Popeye, Superman and other cartoons that you can download and watch, free and legal. these are older ones where the copyright has expired. I thought my kids wouldn't much like the older animation but they laugh hysterically while watching Popeye.

Lots of other movies and such on the site as well.
