Catching Up

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Catching Up
By Enchens on Saturday, October 12, 2013 - 01:10 pm:

Well, it has been a while and we've had a few changes here at home.

Let's see. I'm still a SAHM. I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of it. :)

DH had some things going on at work where he almost lost his job at his site. Thankfully, he went to another site just in time. His old position is now dissolved. His new position is great. His hours shifted a bit so we get to see him sooner on Mondays and Fridays, but his weekends can be filled with a little bit more stuff he has to do for work. We're adjusting.

Oldest ds is now 10 and I'm in uncharted territory with him. He's starting to act like a preteen and I'm getting questions from him that let me know he's definitely growing up. He's also an avid runner. He loves it and he's actually pretty good at it.

Younger ds is 8 and is also testing some boundaries. I've had to have more school meetings as a result of his actions than I wish to have. I think that when the school principal knows you (me) it's not always a good sign... He's a little athlete as well. He's not a runner like his brother, but he'll do short stints in track.

We have a new addition to announce. We had a daughter 2 years ago! She is wonderful and cute and opinionated and very much mommy's copy cat. She watches me and what I do with great intensity and copies me. She gets upset when I'm cleaning the counters and she doesn't have something to clean with. She insists on "helping" me sweep. She knows when the washer and dryer are done and if I don't let her help load those machines I get a real tantrum. Yeah, it takes longer to get stuff done when she "helps" but I see it as an investment for later. So for now, I'm going with it. She's also an artist. I'm always finding new artwork on my walls, doors, and floors. She prefers her work in crayons and pencil. :) Is it weird to say I'm happy to be in this stage again?

Oh, she's a manicurist, too. She saw me do my nails, haha. I just filed them because they were getting kind of eh. It took two minutes. Well, she wants to do her nails, too. And she noticed I polished my toenails, so...yep. She did hers too. She used a pink highlighter and got her nails, her toes and what the heck, her fingers too. lol

I know I wrote a lot. I think it's because I'm happier than I've been in a while. I've had a lot of dips and they kept getting lower. I'm now in a good place and I can be me again. I still have dips, but we now know how to deal with them. Dh has been very supportive and understanding.

I'm glad to be back on the board and I do hope more of us will come back. I'm excited to "see" all of you!

Wow, times flies fast huh? I joined this board when I was pg with my second born. He is a senior in high school and about to turn 18! I have a soph on college, the senior and a high school soph. We stay busy with band, football, and church. Weird going to me at home with all guys! Miss my daughter, but she is doing great. Glad to have some old friends back!

My kids are both now in high school. DD is a senior and DS is a sophomore. I started with MV when they were around 1 and 3. I hope people come back to this board. I am friends with many of them on FB but it's really not the same as MV.
