Grapes of Math books--has anyone read these?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive August 2006: Grapes of Math books--has anyone read these?
By Eve on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 - 03:01 pm:

Another Mom told me about this author yesterday.(I guess he spoke at school) She was saying that Syd's new school will be very challenging and they really push math skills. She recommended this book. I'm just curious to know if anyone has read this or others you could recommend. Thanks.

I've never heard of it, but it looks good.

The Grapes of Math

It says it's for reading level ages 9-12. It certainly wouldn't hurt to start early but does your town really push math that much?? My goodness, Syd is just starting K! This looks like it would be a great book for Ty & B (8 & 10).

Something I read said age 6. I'll have to read up some more. Some of his other books may be for younger learners. I noticed a workbook for Grade 1, so hopefully I can find something suitable. I don't know how much they push math, but I do remember reading something in the literature regarding their special focus on math skills. I'll have to see if I can find it. The paperwork is mindboggling!:)

I just put this book in my shopping cart on Amazon. Sounds like a great book and there are quite a lot by the same author. I think I read in the reviews that it was for ages 6 and up, too.
