It is such a Monday

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive August 2006: It is such a Monday
By Cat on Monday, August 21, 2006 - 09:46 am:

Ugh. I want to go back to bed and start over--or just skip today! Robin waited until the last minute to do his homework this weekend, including a paper he's known about for a week and a half. So last night I go to check on him at about 8:15 to see how he's doing and he was asleep!!! I woke his little butt up and made him take a shower and get most of it done. Then I had to wake him up early this morning to finish. Of course, he does the minimal to get by and I'm sure his grade will suffer. He's also got a cold and a neighbor kid has him convinced he has asthma. He begged me to make him a doctor's appointment. So he's got one at 11:45 that will totally mess up lunch and nap for the day care kiddos. He sees a couple other kids that ride his bus walking so he just throws all his stuff in his backpack and takes off. I told him he's totally unprepared and probably won't even be able to find his papers and he says, "That's the way boys are SUPPOSED to be!" I told him it wasn't, and that his dad's not that way. Whatever. He leaves and leaves a big mess on my dining room table and hutch that I have to get rid of because it's a hazard for the daycare kiddos. While cleaning it up I find his ruler, calculator, pencils and a few other things I'm sure he'll need at school. Oh well. His problem, not mine. Then I find Randy hasn't unpacked his lunch bag from Friday or given me his Friday folder that of course has the whole emergency info and health pack to fill out by TODAY! GGGRRRRRR!!! SO I get all that done and it's time for kids to start arriving. The first little boy to get here is the 2yo tornado. His grandpa brings him in because his mom took her neice and nephew who'd been visiting home to SD and decided not to take her son with her. Grandpa says Grandma was supposed to drop off but she was on her way to CA because their 10yo grandson was hit by a car and killed on Saturday! I can tell Grandpa is holding back tears. Why the whole family isn't going is beyond me. Anyway, this little bit of info, considering I have a 10yo ds is about to push me over the edge this morning. I'm not going to ask what's next because that would just be asking for trouble. *sigh* Thanx for listening.
