Update on Us

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive August 2006: Update on Us
By Christylee on Tuesday, August 8, 2006 - 09:49 pm:

It's been a busy week for us! Today I went on a second interview for a job and before I even hit the freeway the lady called and told me I had the job and I start on Monday. Ladies, I am so very very excited!

Tomorrow Brendan and I go to meet his teacher and Thursday he starts Kindergarten. He's excited and it's bittersweet for me :-) :-( I'm excited yet sad, now my baby is no longer a baby and now a school ager.

Things are FINALLY starting to come together for us!

By Yjja123 on Tuesday, August 8, 2006 - 09:54 pm:

Good luck on your first day.

And boo hoo about your baby going off to school, I understand totally, my last little one will be a year old in a few weeks.

Congratulations!

Great job!

Good luck!

Oh, the sadness of the first day of kindergarten. :( I still get kinda melancholy with each first day of school each year because they are getting older.

:)

I know they are crossing over into another relm, no for real though my baby is 2 and starts public school in three weeks, I've beeen counting down the days. He's going to the toleit great. It's just that every time I hug him and he says I'm going to school mom I get a lump in my throat when I go to say yes my baby is going to school. I'm so proud of him I am , but it's just amazing to see them grow up right before your eyes.

Congratulations!!! We've got several new kindergarteners this year on the board. I have a feeling there we'll be seeing a lot of "My baby's growing up" posts in the next couple of weeks. Good luck to Brendan on his first day!:)

By Luvn29 on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 - 06:50 pm:

Wow, Letishe! 2? What kind of program is he going into? I didn't know public schools had programs before 4! Does he go all day?

It seems like I was going through this myself for the first time just yesterday, but today we went for orientation, and one of mine is a new middle school student in fifth grade, and the other is starting second! Where has the time gone?

By Luvn29 on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 - 06:51 pm:

Sorry Christylee,
this is your post. Still would like to know what your new job is?

Luv29, in DC( washington) as long as a child turns 3 before 12/31 of that year they can start school at the age of 2 as long as they are potty trained. There is head start( income requirement) and there is Monesorri ( which my son will be attending)(no income requirement).

By Luvn29 on Thursday, August 10, 2006 - 06:12 pm:

Oh, cool! Thanks for telling me. I was just curious... I'm sure he is excited!

Christylee, Can't wait to hear all about how your first day goes...for both you and your baby!

By Christylee on Friday, August 11, 2006 - 05:05 am:

Thanks everyone! I guess I could have shared what it was! loll.....

I'm the admin assistant/secretary to the controller and ceo of a small company here in Houston. My commute is about 23 miles so it's not to bad. Really I'll be doing a little bit of everything, there are only 6 people total in the office including myself.

I'm excited and a little nervous but looking forward to Monday.

Brendan had a great first day of kindergarten, there is a pic in the photos section.

Thank you all for the congratulations and your support!

(((everyone big hugs)))))

By Dandjmom on Friday, August 11, 2006 - 12:20 pm:

Well be sure to let us know how your first day went.

I wish I could work in a office with only 6 people. So of the offices here in the build one have a few and they just seem so peaceful to work in and seem to get along so much. un un not my office , too many people in the office with just as many more in the field at the institutions.

CAn't wait to hear how it all went.
