There is a beautiful song out right now by a group called "Heartland". It is called "I Loved Her First", and it is a song that a father of the bride sings to his about-to-be son-in-law. The words just give me chill bumps down my spine. I would imagine many a couple is going to use that song at their reception. I still picture my DD, many years ago now, dancing with her father, and the two of them crying their eyes out.

Heartland also has another nice song called "God Only Cries for the Living" ....."because they're so far from Home".

My boo boo...."Diamond Rio" sings "God Only Cries for the Living", but "Heartland" does sing the other one.

I know! That's likely to be the daddy/daughter dance at my son's wedding next summer. I mentioned hearing the song to his fiancee, and she said that she cried the first time she heard it, it was so beautiful.

Too funny--we just heard it today in the car. My daughter said it was going to be her song for the daddy/daughter dance when she gets married. She wanted to immediately go buy it. No--she is not getting married any time soon. She is 11. She does have a hope chest with items saved for her wedding day.

has anyone heard of the singer rodney atkins ? "going thru hell" ... well he has two songs on his C/D that really touch my heart ... one is "watching you" and "cleaning this gun"
