DH can't stay awake for movies

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive July 2006: DH can't stay awake for movies

He went to Blockbuster, rented She's the Man, and now he's sleeping like a baby, remote still in his hand! I just wanted to tell him something, but his eyes were closed. I sure knew I was too tired for a movie! LOL!

By Heaventree on Saturday, July 22, 2006 - 09:11 am:

I can never stay awake either.

By Jackie on Saturday, July 22, 2006 - 09:39 am:

I can not stay awake either. If we have a movie to watch, I have to watch it early in the day. Once night time comes, and Im comfortable and relaxed, Im normally alseep in less then 5 minutes. LOL

I think it's a male thing. Once my DH is sitting/lying at a certain angle on the way to horizontal, unconsciousness quickly overtakes him. And if you remove the remote from his hand he wakes up. And my X was the exact same way. So either it's a guy thing, or a Sagitarius thing - they are both Sags. LOL

I don't know about that theory Karen, lol. I'm not a guy and I'm a Virgo and I can't stay awake for movies. I'm usually ok if we go to the theater or if its early in the day, but if we watch tv/movies in our room or if I lay down on the couch I'm a gonner. Same thing in the recliner.

By Hol on Saturday, July 22, 2006 - 02:33 pm:

Me, too. I get too comfy at home, and if I GO to a movie, it has to be a matinee, or I'm a goner, too.
One night, when my DD was in high school, she and her friends invited me to go to the movies with them. Very soon, they were all laughing at me because I was snoring away. And I was a lot younger then! LOL!

I don't fall asleep, at the theater, but sometimes I doze off at home, if the plot starts slowing down. We rented Shopgirl, which wasn't nearly as funny as I thought it might be. I did fall asleep during that one.

My dh falls asleep in the theater, too....and snores!

By Dawnk777 on Saturday, July 22, 2006 - 11:20 pm:

DH also falls asleep at book discussion too, and snores! LOL! It's like a given, that he will fall asleep and snore!

Add mine to the list! But if he doesn't fall asleep, he leaves (at home, anyway). He just can't sit through an entire movie...never has. I ask him how he can leave 10 min. before it's over! He's not ADD or anything, he just loses interest (or he'll come in at the end and ask what's going on).

I have a friend, who doesn't rent movies, because she can't sit that long! I'll admit, that I left during Kangaroo Jack, because the plot was just sooo stupid and the main characters, so incredibly stupid, that I couldn't stand it! (We rented it, though.)

Add me to the list! I'm horrible for that, then again I'm up at 5:30 everyday and exhausted by the weekend. However, I did manage to stay awake this weekend for the movie I watched. :) I was on holidays though and getting A LOT more sleep than normal.
