This is one of the neat programs our band gets to participate in. The band will play with them at a concert tonight. I am sure all schools do stuff like this, but my 6th grade percussion student is *so* excited!! This morning they got to go to the High School and practice with the Dallas Brass and tonight they will perform a couple of songs with them at the concert. DS thinks they are putting him on Cymbols (sp) for this program but he didnt mind. He is really enjoying learning to play all the percussion instruments and is constantly drumming on everything in this house. ugh I hope he continues to enjoy it!

My oldest dropped out of band this semester, after 3 yrs. He was really burned out on it. :( He is much more into the athletics scene. Which is fine with me. He did finally buy an electric guitar and will take some lessons this summer on that. So he isnt against playing an instrument he was just really tired of keeping up with band and athletics. He was tired of the trumpet too. lol

Here is the link if you want to look. I couldnt get some of the links to work on their website tho. I wanted to play the videos and couldnt.

Well, the concert was really good. The 6th gr band performed the Star Wars theme with these guys and they did such a great job!! Brad was really pumped about it. Alot of the kids were up trying to dance to some of the swing music they played. lol That was pretty cute.

Interesting group. It was pretty entertaining. They performed a song with the 8th gr too but i missed most of it. My 6yo was needing a potty break and too stretch his legs by the time the 8th gr took the stage. Brandon (8th gr) watched and said they sounded awesome.
