EMT Training

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: EMT Training
By Northcountrymom on Sunday, April 11, 2010 - 09:53 pm:

Well I spent 12 hours this weekend with other EMT's improving skills. I always come away from these trainings amazed at the people who volunteer to do fire and rescue. Thank you God for these people who give up their time and $ to save other people. This weekend there was a mom who is also a nurse, a guy who runs an electrical services company and just took his EMT skills to Haiti to volunteer there, a woman farmer who is also a mom but is her town's only EMT, an unmarried female fire chief who subsidizes this volunteer world and pays the bills working for Walmart and a paper mill, a manager of a country lodge, a school teacher. All giving up an evening and a weekend day to keep their skills sharp so they could save their neighbors lives.

Thank you to anyone else who does this.

Thanks too, Linda. Should be getting busy unfortunately now it is getting warm.

That is wonderful Linda. Its easy for us to let these people go unnoticed - until the time comes that it's a desperate medical need. THANK YOU SO MUCH for giving your time and your self. You save so many lives & dont get all the recognition you deserve. As a Police Officer I can totally relate!

Mommy 3 - you do have an especially hard job. We actually spoke about how hard it is especially for police officers at home. Its hard to get support because so few people understand how much stress there is for an officer's family as well as the on-the job work.
