I want a cat again. my son is allergic to regular grey cats.

help.

I don't want to spend $15,000 for hypo allergenic cats on internet... isn't there something cheaper for me to buy or adopt at shelter?

I heard those Hairless cats are hypo-allergenic SPHYNX. I almost got into those before I went with the Ragdolls....They don't shed - but they are oily I heard - if you use baby wipes on them & wipe them down they are OK - but if you don't I heard they are greasy and can get stinky...but may just beat the hairy & shedding cats that I have!

I don't know about this, I WAS thinking Chinese Crested, but DUH .... that's a dog !!!
Two sons and hubby are all allergic, so we have dogs ... but daughter wants a cat so bad .... she has a chihuahua who THINKS she is a cat, acts like a cat and could probably benefit from a litter box (actually, many chihuahua owners DO litter box train their chihuahuas) ....
Are you opposed to a dog ? You could get a small snuggly kind .... my family members don't go into sneezing/coughing/hacking fits around the dogs, but when they enter a cat-home, all bets are off ...
My daughter has been told when she goes off to college we'll see if she can have a cat in her dorm, she has to wait til then. She still moons over them every time we see a kitten up for adoption in PetSmart!
