Track Meet

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Track Meet
By Enchens on Sunday, May 17, 2009 - 12:43 pm:

Ds had his second track meet yesterday. He competed in the long jump and the 50m. He's improved a lot in the long jump. He had been jumping about 3ft and yesterday his best jump was 4ft 1in. He did not advance to the finals in the 50m but he is happy because he was not last, he was second to last, and he beat a 1st grader. (he's still in kinder.)

I'm just glad he enjoys it. Oh, and just fyi, if you try to take pictures during the events, all you get is blurs or pics of kids who are not yours! lol

Wow,
He's doing great. If you're using a digital camera it might have a sports/action shots speed, mine has a picture of a person running - will catch action shots.

He loves track. I just hope he likes it next year as well. He has his sports banquet later this month. I'm sure he'll want to wear a little bowtie for that, too! lol

Thanks for the camera tip. I'll look into it. I'll have a while to fiddle with it since track is over now.

Is he doing a sport for the summer? My little guy likes tennis and soccer so I'm looking into possibilities for one week day camps.

No, not as of now. Summer is mommy time. We'll be doing a lot of picnics, library time, painting, playdoh, that kind of thing. He has asked about joining baseball, but I think the season is near over. If he insists on doing something, dh and I will look into it.
