Hol.....are you here?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Hol.....are you here?
By Wandilu on Thursday, April 2, 2009 - 12:39 am:

I haven't heard from you in a long time...just wondering where you are :)

By Hol on Sunday, April 19, 2009 - 10:54 pm:

Hi Wanda! It is so nice to have you looking for me. I'm still around. I just had my feelings so hurt by some of the Moms. I have been a member since 2003 and THOUGHT that they were my friends. However, you have always been nice to me, and as I recall, even took my side.

How are you? How are all of your family? I'll bet it's nice and warm in your area right now. It has been chilly and windy here. I loved living in the South.

Thank you for your caring. It means a great deal to me.

Hi Hol,

Love your personal quote:

You will never be remembered for what you were able to accumulate in life. You will only be remembered for how well you loved.

Hi Hol,
Love your personal quote/goal: You will never be remembered for what you were able to accumulate in life. You will only be remembered for how well you loved.

Hi Hol!

I am glad to "see" you as well. I hope all is well and that you post more often.

looks like this rainy new england weather will be long gone by Saturday!

By Hol on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 - 07:06 pm:

Hello, Colette and Linda! It is nice to hear from you, as well. Linda, are you new to MV? I have missed the board and my "true" friends.I have heard from one of the other Moms as well, through personal email.
And thank you, Linda (re: my quote). I truly believe that. I believe that we will be accountable to God for how well we learned how to give AND receive..love.

By Colette on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 - 07:52 pm:

Hol, you were great support during a very trying time. I still remember that. Please keep in touch through email. Colette at castines dot com.

By Northcountrymom on Thursday, April 23, 2009 - 10:33 pm:

Hi Hol,

Yes - I've been on the board a few months.

In terms of love as the priority - the love chapter says it all - .... now these three remain; faith, hope and love. But the greatest these is love. (ICor.13:13)

Its the "how to" in the previous 12 verses that is always my challenge as a mom and wife - you know - love is patient, does not envy, is not rude, is not proud, not self-seeking, keeps no record of wrongs etc.

Would be great to hear more from you if you can post.

Linda

Colette,

Sounds like your in my neck of the woods. We straddle New England and the Canadian border.

Are you closer to the midlantic states?

Sounds like we have your weather.

Wandilu,

Are you anywhere near Chatanooga?

Linda

Hi Hol !!! It is sooo good to hear from you :)I'm sorry that you got your feelings hurt.I always enjoyed reading your post, especially when it was a "deep "subject,as I am not one to jump in a serious talk ,but I loved the way you had such knowledge about christianity and stood up for your beliefs.I remember agreeing and believing the same way as you, so I would try to cheer you on :)If you'd like,we can email back and forth sometime..rlk wlk @ hotmail .com (no spaces).Hi Linda. We are about 2 hrs from Chattanooga.I'm up closer to Nashville. Our weather has been quite goofy for a while. It's been very windy and cold. But today it got warmer, and this week we are supposed to get into the 80's...yay!It's been a rough winter for us.We started a roof cleaning business last year, and didn't make enough to store up some money for the winter. And we were hopeing to have the ball rolling by now, but the weather has been so cold,we've only cleaned one roof so far. We're thinking about trying to sell the business, but when we do get work, it's good money. So,please pray for us .We have our 12th dgbaby due in May,and our first Great-Grandbaby due in May also! But our granddaughter and her dh lives in Fl,so I won't be able to see the ggb very often :( But,she keeps me informed about the pregnacy thru pictures and text's and phone calls! I never thought I would be a GreatGrandmother at 55 ! But I had my first DD at 17,and she had her 1st DD at 17,and now my DGD is having her 1st at 19.Time sure fly's !! By the way,Linda, my dream was to move to New York after I graduated and live in a loft ! But that 1st baby, and LIFE, changed that plan :) I still think about it sometimes..I even look up loft apts on craigslist!! TeeHee! You ladies take care!!

By Hol on Friday, April 24, 2009 - 11:35 pm:

Hello again, ladies! Linda, I too claim ICorinthians 13:13, but we ALL have problems with the parts that come before. :)

Wanda, you have always been so sweet. I'm sorry that things have been so tough for you over the winter. It has been a really long, cold winter everywhere this year, I think.

I have some news that I didn't share last year because things were so uncertain, but I am a grandma to THREE new grandbabies. My DD had triplets last June, ten weeks early. Twin boys and a girl. They contracted MERSA in the hospital, so it was very scary for a while. They all came home at different times; my dgd being the last, in September. They also have a four year old big sister. They are nearly ten months old now and so much fun. I have just retired to do daycare for my DD and her hubby. She is a nurse and son-in-law is a police officer, so they try to rotate their schedules around each other, but I will be there to fill in the gaps and help her out.

Today was our first sunny day in a week. It has been either cloudy or pouring rain. It is still chilly and windy but good clothes drying weather. I love to hang my wash outside. However, today I was hanging clothes and my next door neighbor came over to say hello. We sat and visited for a while in the yard. Right after she left, I heard a big "crack" and all of my laundry was on the ground. My clothesline was attached at one end, to a tree. The tree had rotted over the winter and I didn't know it. The weight of the clothes (a lot of DS's jeans) pulled it over. Just little things to test our patience. :)

Linda, you must get some REALLY cold weather where you are. My sister lives outside Rochester, NY (also not far from Canada, but a bit west) and they sometimes get snow in October and it doesn't go away until April. There is a bitter cold there that goes right through your bones. We have the ocean here, like Collette does, to kind of moderate temps a bit.

It is nice to be back. Thank you all for remembering me.

Hi, Hol. Congratulations! Congratulations! on the birth of your three grandbabies. It's neat that you get to spend so much time with them.

Oh, my goodness! What a laundry adventure!

By Northcountrymom on Sunday, April 26, 2009 - 01:57 am:

What a great privilege for these little ones to get to spend time with you as they grow. I'm sure it helps your daughter and your son-in-law to have peace of mind as they do such self-sacrificial jobs.

WE do get quite a bit of cold weather but today was extraordinary even for the summer - at 6P.M. it still registered 92 degrees - the only predictable thing about our mountain weather is its unpredictability.

By Hol on Monday, April 27, 2009 - 09:51 am:

Thank you, all! Yes, they are a real blessing and I feel so honoured and priviledged to be a big part of their lives.

By ~harlena on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 - 04:56 am:

Congrats to EVERYONE on those babies this last 6mths to a year ..... yeah Grandmas !!!

Wendilu .... where does your Gd live in FL ? I'm smack dab in between Jax & Daytona Beach on the East coast ..... it's ok to live here (personally I'm practicing being thankful in all things) but I certainly miss the seasons. It's been weird weather here too ... almost May and STILL not warm enough to go to the beach or the pool ("mommy's lips turn blue" is my reason for the kids when they tell me it's "not too cold", yes it is !)
