Amazing Wedding

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Amazing Wedding

Need a break from your reality.

I rarely cry at a TV show re: weddings but this one got me.

When hurricaine Ike hit Texas evidently hundreds of Brides lost their wedding money and the place where they were going to get married. Some lost everything Some just before their wedding was supposed to happen. One woman lost the money that her mom had given her for her wedding from an insurance policy that she had for her daughter shortly before the mother's death. For everyone the sacrifices to make their big day were irreplacable. Virtually every bride cried as they shared their stories of loss but their dreams for their marriage and their love of their future husbands (and so did I).

Rachel Ray decided to rescue these couples. She gave them a wedding extravaganza right down to a comedian for the toast, the wedding cake, beautiful gowns and wedding bands (using Minute Maid Stadium in Houston). Imagine wedding dinner planned and catered by Rachel Ray

One man said "When I saw her walk down the aisle in her dress I would have waited a million years for this moment."

One bride said "she could have picked one couple to give this to.. but she found a way to give it to all of us..." .. "my cinderella wedding". There were 40 couples.

Wynona Rider volunteered to sing. She said they say "do the next right thing.... this was the next right thing".

Check it out for a few minutes - its astonishing what they did, bring your kleenex.

Very awesome! What a big heart she has.
It was so cool of Wynonna Judd to agree to sing, too.
