Relative's cancer encouragement ?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Relative's cancer encouragement ?
By ~harlena on Saturday, January 10, 2009 - 03:01 am:

Just found out today that very dear relative (Dh's aunt) has liver cancer. She's been in the hospital all week, having biopsies and etc .... I didn't understand why until I did some research myself ...

Apparently liver cancer is a secondary cancer, and treatments aren't even considered until the primary cancer site has been found. That's what they've been doing all week, looking for the primary site. They haven't found it, she's going for some kind of scan on Tuesday to take a very find look at all body parts/organs to see if they can determine the primary site.

Dh went down to visit them today after we found out, he's probably the closest support system the husband has. They are "snowbirds" and are here half the year, and in NY the other half. Dh said his aunt was glad he came down (they live an hour away), it helped out the husband quite a bit.

I'm very sad, I have no family and have adopted Dh's as my own, so this is a blow ..... Dh's mom has been very sick since the fall, we all thought she had some form of cancer but so far she doesn't .... and she's finally doing better ....

I'm praying for a miracle myself ...

Are there any cancer survivors out there with any words of wisdom or encouragement to impart .... or any family member/close friends with the same ?

thanks ...

I definitely would give you all the encouragement in the world.

I will pray for a miracle too for your aunt.

Cyberhugs to you and your family.
