I totally did not post here after my birthday (It was on sunday) and I should have.

My divorce isn't finalized but I'm working on it as most of you know. The darling man in my life bought me a promise ring and it was the greatest idea!

It's white gold, petite and has 5 diamonds on it that look kind of like vines in the design they're in. I'll try to take a picture to show you ladies when I can get his out of his truck (mine was stolen when we were broken into).

The look on his mom's face when she saw it was priceless and I know she was dying to know but didn't say anything! It was great. She knows now that it was my birthday present but didn't ask more.

My only reason (and his) for not saying it's an engagement ring is to avoid the inevitable pressure to rush and get married and neither of us want that...

No word on the people who broke into the house or any of our missing stuff.

A couple of good things came of it. I spoke to the realtor of the abandoned houses and the owners are now monitoring the properties and have boarded them all up. One of the boards came down again and they came back and fixed it again without me calling

Unfortunately we appear to have someone dealing drugs on our street we have seen a lot of cars and that kind of activity around the house on our walks with the dog. Not sure what to do about it but it seems we have to make a call to the police again and I wonder if that's why there were on our block in the first place. *sigh*
