What are your little ones wanting/getting for Christmas?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: What are your little ones wanting/getting for Christmas?
By Jtsmom on Monday, November 3, 2008 - 03:53 pm:

My oldest (8) is so hard to buy for. He has never been one to play with toys of any kind. He loves his PS2, but has so many games already. We did get him a DS and some games for it for Christmas, but he didn't even ask for that. But I am sure he will love it. My little one (4) loves anything! He plays with his toys all of the time, but his big thing will be a bike and a big wheel (one that is for older kids). He has one that he LOVES now, but he is wearing it out, plus it is one of the smaller ones. I would love to get some ideas for my 8 yr old though.

We are getting a PS3 for our 2 boys, ages 8 and 10. Both of them have only asked for 2 things...My oldest wants a University of Texas football helmet, and a video game. My youngest just asked for a Star Wars lego set, and a Josh Hamilton jersey. My parents are getting them the helmet, and legos. So dh and had to come up with something. They have asked the last 2 years for a PS3, and we didn't get one. They were two expensive the first christmas, and hard to find. And, last year we got a Wii, which they also wanted. This year they didn't ask for one, but it is the only thing dh and I can think of that we know they will love.

They are both too old for toys now. They both got bikes for their last birthday. Really, we couldn't think of anything else.

We have gotten our 4 almost 5 year old dd and our 6year old ds both a DS lite and a game each so far.
I am not sure what else to get them to go with it.

We have just been working on Christmas lists this past weekend. I don't think that Natalie will be getting any one 'big' item this year, but lots of smaller things. We haven't started shopping yet though. She seems to want everything, but honestly she's the kid that really plays the most with something completely unconventional....her Little People and 2 un-carved pumpkins were like a 30 minute scenario before dinner this evening, you know? Many things she 'wants' (which at her age is everything) are just crap-o toys if you ask me, but on the other hand I feel like Christmas is for getting what you 'want', and not what's practical.

Kaitlyn's big "expensive" gift is the Nintendo DS and accessories/games. Other things she's getting are: a bead craft kit, puffy stickers (she loves them!), a karaoke machine (although this may end up as a family gift lol), dress up clothes. That's all I have listed so far.

Nathan's big gift is a Power Wheels quad. I don't have any must haves for him this year. As long as it has 2-4 wheels and makes noise, he will be more than happy. LOL He is so easy to please!

The kids are just starting to talk about Christmas....and not saying alot...
I did get my DD Alissa who is 8 ,3 mushabellies so far.
She wants games for her DS, and anything High School Musical 3!
My DS Tom who is 22 wants a DS he loves to play the Sims! My weird kiddo :) Hes been playing Sims on Alissa's DS and can sit for hours when he is home!
DS Brett who is 14 wants all hunting things. Boots, Clothes, outdoor camera.
So at least I have some ideas!
Now it just to get out and get Christmas shopping done early!

Kathy I tell you the Sims are easy to get addictive too. I have it for the DS but haven't played it yet for fear of what my house will look like and if the kids will get picked up. LOL

I have no idea really!!

They've asked for ps2 games that sort of thing.

I'm thinking I'm going to get my dd (9) a digital camera. She's forever wanting to take pictures with mine! She'll also want anything high school musical so I'll probably get her the 3 movies on dvd.

The boys are harder..they just want video games. (11, 12 and 17).

They'll get the normal stuff like new clothes and books. I always buy movies that we really want but those are more "family" gifts.

The big thing that was on all their lists (A PUPPY!!) we got this past weekend so....I have no ideas! lol

I think I'm going to buy a Wii as a family gift.
My 13 year old wants a DS and a couple of movies. She wanted the Twilight books, so my mom bought her the 3 she didn't have yet.
My 15 and 12 year olds have only asked for clothes.
I'm not sure about the other 2. They are both non verbal and pretty much unaware of the idea of Christmas gifts, so I just have to use my imagination. :)

I have no idea... Mine are all getting older and aren't into toys any more. I will need to be deciding what we are doing pretty quick thought.

PS3 games & Nerf guns for my son
Books for my daughter---she has a huge wish list for books
Likely I will get the complete band PS3 set for both.

My dd has her 5th b-day 6 days before Christmas. She loves everything lol but the thing she wants the most is Disco Dancing Wubzy. She is very into Littlest Pet Shop, Barbie and has mentioned the Cherry market? I've seen it but don't remember the name.

My 8 yr old dd also loves Littlest Pets and Hannah Montana. She just started liking Hannah recently and really wants the Christmas doll of her. This is very different for her as she never really liked dolls. Last year she didn't really want toys she wanted Bobby Jack stuff and this year there are a lot of toys she wants.

My 9 yr old ds is the tough one this year. He likes Pokemon and something called Bakugon (sp?)He doesn't have anything of that so that makes it a bit easier. He is very into video games but he has a ton and hasn't asked for any new specific game. Action figures are always a hit. He has mentioned a Wii.

dd (9) may get a hamster. That is her must have.

Ds( soon to be 8) wants legos and some other stuff . Nothing big.

We are not sure what we are getting them yet .

We are getting a Wii which will be more of a family gift. My dd is getting a new American girl doll, ds is getting a new bike, and the baby will be pretty easy to please with whatever.
