Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: STOP the madness!!!!!
By Vicki on Monday, November 3, 2008 - 03:17 pm:

I can't wait for tomorrow to be over. I have already had 16 calls today alone about this election!!!! And it is only 3pm!!

By Breann on Monday, November 3, 2008 - 03:28 pm:

I'm excited for the results!

We aren't registered with any political party. We haven't had any phone calls at all for either side of the ticket.

By Brandy on Monday, November 3, 2008 - 07:46 pm:

i've gotten 2 calls on my cell phone = ( and a flyer was in my door tonight

By Debbie on Monday, November 3, 2008 - 07:49 pm:

I have been getting calls like crazy the past week. I stopped answering them.

By Jackie on Monday, November 3, 2008 - 08:02 pm:

I just got a call on my cell phone, and I hung up on the guy. Normally I say "Im not interested in discussing this"...but I was just so fed up.

By Cat on Monday, November 3, 2008 - 09:14 pm:

We have a friend that tells all the Obama callers that she's voting for McCain and all the McCain callers she's voting for Obama. She's a trip. I just hang up.

By Dana on Monday, November 3, 2008 - 09:20 pm:

I've not gotten any calls at all. I have had to Obama people stop by my house in the last few days. Other than that, nothing that i know about.

By Reds9298 on Monday, November 3, 2008 - 09:30 pm:

We're new here, so we haven't gotten any calls. Plus, we're not registered with either party. I'm excited to see the results as well Breann! I'm really looking forward to the whole thing this time around.

By Dawnk777 on Monday, November 3, 2008 - 11:11 pm:

No calls at all. DH got something on his car, from the Republicans. We got a flyer in the door the other day, from the Obama people.

Sarah's been canvassing in Oshkosh, for her favorite candidate!

By Colette on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 - 07:38 am:

16 calls?! In one day!

I had Bill C. call me twice on Sunday but that was it. On my way to vote now.

By Brandy on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 - 09:34 am:

Just had another flier in my door for Obama leave me alone already i will vote for who i want !!!!!!!!!!

By Missbookworm on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 - 10:03 am:

hehe Cat! I love your friends response! It makes it so interesting and sounds like what I would do.

I spoke to a friend of mine who lives in Colorado yesterday and he said "I'm voting for God" It was a great statement but I'm curious if he actually wrote "God" on his ballot and checked it. If you did something like that do you get in trouble? I'm curious. Voting is such a hard thing for me. We had an election here recently and absolutely everything I heard from the candidates was bashing each other. I was rather put off by that...

By Yjja123 on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 - 10:20 am:

I am ready for it to be over.
I am sick to death of all the negative commercials, etc.
I hope whoever wins will make some big changes in the year 2009.

By Colette on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 - 10:38 am:

Catherin, you can write in whomever you want, God, Mickey Mouse, anyone.

By Vicki on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 - 10:40 am:

Well Colette, that was at 3pm. It ended with 24 calls for the day yesterday. I am in Ohio, so I am sure that makes a difference. Definite swing state. It isn't just presidential calls (although that is most of them) we are also getting calls for state issues and even some local issues.

I am quite surprised we have gotten NO calls yet today.

I just got home from the polls and was there for about an hour.

By Kernkate on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 - 11:26 am:

I had 6 phone calls today...annoying since I voted at 8 a.m.!
Its almost over!!!
PA is also a push state...

By Colette on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 - 11:35 am:

Yikes Vicki! How annoying! You too Kate!

By Dawnk777 on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 - 02:40 pm:

I got one McCain call this morning.

By Tayjar on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 - 02:55 pm:

Well, here at work, we have 16,000 employees in our buildings in town. Captive audience. We've had just about every candidate, even Obama back in the early winter, stop by in the last year and give us their sermons over our PA system. They are limited to 3 minutes but it's not like you can hang up on them. We were getting local, state, and national candidates each day. One day we counted 7 or 8 of them.

By Cat on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 - 03:20 pm:

I saw a sign in someone's yard while we were in MI that said, "Larry the Cable Guy for President!" Maybe we should all write him in. :p

I told my mom I'd like to write in McCain and Biden as a team. Wonder how that'd work???

By Vicki on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 - 03:47 pm:

I am amazed, but still not one single call today. It seems so quiet...

By Vicki on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 - 05:13 pm:

I stand corrected... John McCain called a little while ago to remind me to go vote. LOL

By Jackie on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 - 07:23 pm:

I had 3 calls on my cellphone annoying LOL

By Luvn29 on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 - 07:35 pm:

We live in VA and have had several calls everyday for the last week or two. It's driving us crazy! We had one at 10:15 on Saturday night. I think that is totally uncalled for.

By Dawnk777 on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 - 08:47 pm:

Got one call from CWA (Communication Workers of America - DH's union) and one call from Obama. So, we had three total.

By Crystal915 on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 - 09:54 pm:

That's one advantage to not having a landline, I haven't gotten a single call on my cell, even though it's registered with the local Dem. Party and Still, I'm glad it's finally the 4th!! I am EXHAUSTED, and yet I'll be up late, because I am so excited for the results. Election day/night has been a big event in my family for as long as I can remember, so I'm pushing through the sleepiness regardless!!
