Positive update on me :)

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive October 2008: Positive update on me :)

Well, I complained on here awhile back about dh's job, it went from bad to worse so he left. It's looking like it might have worked out for the best! He is working with school age kids after school again. Our oldest 2 kids can go there and dd will in two months when she is old enough. It was only part time but through the same place he got a job working with teenage dads which adds up to full time. Well, someone in the school age childcare quit and they asked if I would be interested since I've had child psychology and other college credits I'd be qualified. They are holding the job for me until dd is old enough to go there too in two months.

This means that we will both be able to work without worrying about childcare since it's a place we can all be. Dh will be with the school kids the same time I am. His job with the dads allows him to set his own hours. It cuts back in the summer, but that is when we will both be needed full time with school being out. This allows us to be able to work and go to school and see each other! There also wouldn't be any extra transportation costs due to my going to work, it's the same shifts and everything and the kids will be there! I hope this all works out until we get through school. It's weird, I have been less worried about finances since dh left that job than I was when he was working. I just felt things would turn out better than ever and it's looking that way. I just can't imagine better circumstances for us to both work. And I think dh will be able to make a real difference with the teen dads. He's great with young people and even though he wasn't still a teen he was a young dad. It also seems there has been a point to the classes I've had even at this early stage in my college career. For right now I am very happy and have a positive outlook on the future :)

Sounds great.... I work for a program with school aged children. I find my sociology, psychology and human behavior classes have given me a leg up with my position. Many prayers that this is the break you have been looking for. :)

I hope this works about better for you! That other job wasn't worth the stress it all put you under.
