So, in 2 days we leave for East Troy, WI for the 2 day DMB concert at Alpine Valley, and I am beside myself with excitement. I saw my first show 11 years ago in NJ... time flies!! J is not as excited only because he has to work until Thursday afternoon, and getting this excited would make the days drag. We're picking up the kids on the way back, which is also very exciting!! I miss my kids, more than I ever thought possible!!! So, since I'm off this week, I'm packing, cleaning, running errands, registering the kids for school, etc... and it's crunch time! We haven't decided how early to leave, since we don't know where we want to stop on the way, the first show starts Saturday night, but with tailgating and getting into the center, we need to be ready mid-morning. We're camping at a place called Bong State Recreational Park, I haven't camped since I was a girl scout! And to you WI moms, the weather is PERFECT!!!!! I couldn't deal with your winters, and really like my summers hotter than mid-70s, but for camping and shows, that's amazing!!!

The one thing I'm worried about is that this might be the last tour. DMB tours every year, and it's a big deal to us... then earlier this year the sax player was seriously injured in an ATV accident, right after the keyboardist quit the band. Roi, the sax player, was a founding member where the keyboardist was not, but they have a guy from the Flecktones in for him this tour. So, because of his injuries, there are rumors of this being the end. I can't imagine this is true, but it would be huge deal to me.

Now, that I know what you're talking about, it sounds awesome! I used to be such a concert hound! I've been to so many good ones, but nothing in the recent past! I'll have to do something about that!

Thanks everyone!!! And LOL, no worries to those who had to look it up. DMB is the Dave Matthews Band, kind of hard to classify, but it's kinda alt/rock/folk type of music, the 5 "official" members are singer/guitar, bass, drums, violin, and sax. This is my 5th show, and J's 8th or 9th, now that my kids are older it will be an annual thing for me. (Not Alpine Valley, of course, that's just one of the big locations we wanted to see, like the Gorge in WA and Red Rocks, CO.) I have so much to do today to prepare, and I'm procrastinating!!!
