Picture slide to photo?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive August 2008: Picture slide to photo?
By Annie2 on Sunday, August 3, 2008 - 12:47 pm:

My family kept most of our pictures as slides. How can I take a slide and turn it into a hard copy photo? Does Wal Mart have this feature in their photo dept?

By Karen~admin on Sunday, August 3, 2008 - 02:10 pm:

You may have to take the slides to Ritz or Wolf or another professional photo outlet to get prints made from them - I don't know if Wal Mart offers that feature. People haven't really used slides much at all in many years. My sister used to do that, as recently as in the '90's.

My friend has a business doing that.
Email me and I will tell you how to contact her.

I bought a slide/negative scanner from Sears, and it was just over the $100 mark, I think. I haven't used it yet, but have lots of slides and negatives to do. Maybe you could get something like that, if you have lots.

Ritz does it. I found some old ones when I was cleaning out my in-laws house and I had them made in to prints and framed for Christmas. It's not expensive.

Thanks everyone. I have about six reels of family photos. I do have a projector and a screen. The kids love to have slide shows every few months.
I do have one slide that I want to make into a print. We have a Ritz here in town and will swing by this week. :)
