Today I become the parent of an "adult," LOL! Dd turns 18 today. I am just so proud of her. I can't believe it's been 18 years. I know it's so cliche, but the years really do fly by...and yet I remember days that seemed to last forever, LOL! That's the life of a mom, I think: Long days, short years.

We bought her a phone she has been wanting, and we are taking her out for a really nice steak dinner. She said she is going to go buy a lottery ticket, just because she can!

It's crazy really. When my dks were babies, I'd hold them, and think, I don't know how I'll manage when they aren't cuddly babies anymore. I'll miss them so much. Then they become toddlers, and I would think, I don't know what I'll do when they get older, I'll miss them as this person so much... And on and on. But you really don't. I guess that is how we are hard-wired. Because as they grow, we love them for that person they are, and even though we have great memories of when they were smaller, we don't actually miss that person they were. Does that make any sense at all?
