I am the most un-creative person in the world!! My son (7) has book report due on Monday on Dr Seuss - One Fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish. This is not a written book report. It has to be a creative project to let the other kids know what the books is about. I have tried to think of a way to make a fake fish bowl, but really can't come up with anything. Any ideas???

Can it be edible, like for the whole class? You can buy colored goldfish crackers and put them in little dixie cups of blue jello. I've seen it on the internet somewhere.

Blue saran wrap over a paper plate with colored goldfish glued to the inside?

SOunds like a GREAT idea!! When would I put the fish in the jello? I was thinking that I could get some small clear cups and have the fish look like they are swimming. But when do I put the fish in to make sure they don't fall to the bottom??

You guys are great! I like the saran wrap idea also.

If you want a paper template for a fish bowl and some fish, here's one:

Fish Bowl

You could do an aquarium in an empty soda bottle, add some fish, water oil and food coloring as well.

What does your son want to do?

By Jtsmom on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 - 03:33 pm:

Poor thing, he is about as crafty as me!! He can't come up with an idea either, so I try to suggest a few things and let him pick what he want us to work on together.

LOL!

I just wanted to add, instead of goldfish crackers, you can use swedish fish or gummy fish. It might go better with the jello.

Oh I like the idea of gummy fish! I always thought crackers in jello didn't sound particularly appetizing but that's one of the many joys of childhood lol. I saw it as an idea for an elmo themed party so that might be something to look at for instructions. I never actually did this though. Have fun!

Where can you buy gummy fish? I check Walmart yesterday, but they didn't have any. I am going to head over to Target today, (about 25 minutes away) which all I need is a good reason to go there, and hopefully they will have them. Thanks to everyone.

O.K. I found swedish fish at Target. We are going to work on this this weekend. Thanks guys for saving us!!
