Is it still cold where you live?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive April 2008: Is it still cold where you live?
By Dana on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - 08:30 am:

We've had a hot one day, cold the next day winter all season long. Now it pretty much feels like summer, so I am hoping I can get rid of the winter clothes box and return it to storage.

Do you still need your warm clothes? How much longer do you think you will be using them?

I'm in central gulf coast FL.

By Reds9298 on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - 08:32 am:

I'm in Central IN. It's cold in the mornings and cold at night right now, but it's been beautiful during the day - in the 60's. It's IN though, so we could still get snow next week out of the blue. Right now though, I'm in hog heaven!! I was getting so tired of not being outside! I just bought the first half of Natalie's summer wardrobe yesterday.

By Bellajoe on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - 08:41 am:

I'm in NE Ohio and have pretty much the same weather as Deanna.
It was in the 60's yesterday and beautiful. The first day warm enough for no jackets. Today is going to be a bit chillier but at least it will be sunny.

By Angellew on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - 08:43 am:

I had to scrape a lot of frost off my windows this morning!!! :( And, because I'm on the coast, we're only in the 40s during the day. But, they are predicting close to 60 on Thursday! Yipppeee!

By Jackie on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - 08:54 am:

Yes, and I hate it :(... Since Friday the sun has not been out..Its been gloomy/rainy on and off since Friday. UGH... I want sun and warm weather. It has not really gotten past 50 . I See it should be in the low 70's by the end of the week. No we dont have snow, but goodness it is spring..lets see some sun :)

By Karen~admin on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - 09:26 am:

Summertime here.......tank tops and shorts and sandals....80+ everyday now.......and VERY humid.

The French Quarter Festival is this weekend. It is always near the middle of April. Normally it is hot by then, and this year will be no different.

By Dawnk777 on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - 09:43 am:

It was 68 on Saturday, and during the night last night it was 35 and now it's only about 40-41. Ugh. So, it was almost warm enough for shorts, on Saturday, and yesterday I was back in my winter jacket! LOL!

We will need warm clothes through May. Even in May, it gets chilly, although we start having warmer days. April can have warm days, but not so much this year. I'm hoping to be able to shed the winter jacket, by the end of the month. It certainly won't be today.

At my lunch job, sometimes a winter jacket is too warm, yet a lighter jacket might be too cold. You just never know.

Jackie, 70's are Ugh? I can't imagine complaining about 70's or 80's, for that matter, although, I don't like the humidity!

By Tink on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - 10:01 am:

Surprisingly, we're not too warm yet. It's in the mid-60's in the afternoons but still dipping into the 40's overnight. This weekend, we're supposed to see the mid-80's so that will be shorts and tanks weather!

Oh, I'm in central California.

By Jackie on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - 10:16 am:

Dawn, my UGH was because we havent seen the Sun since last Friday... I love 70 degree days...Im just ughing because I cant stand gloomy rainy days LOL

By Rayelle on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - 02:38 pm:

I'm in md. The weather here isn't so great for sinus headaches, cold one day and warm the next. Today is the first day of spring for me :) It was warm and they were mowing grass and planting daffodils at the college.

By Marcia on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - 03:03 pm:

It's around the freezing mark, in the morning, in Southern Ontario. It's been getting up to around 50 for a couple of days, with nice sun. I know 50 sounds chilly to lots of people, but it means t-shirt weather here! :)

By Debbie on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - 03:33 pm:

It was beautiful all weekend, in the mid 70's, and sunny. But, today it is cold(50's), cloudy, and windy. BRRRR....I am ready for spring

By Imamommyx4 on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - 05:40 pm:

76 and sun shining most of the day.

By Dawnk777 on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - 05:52 pm:

Yeah, two many rainy days in a row, is depressing. It's been raining here, since about 2pm.

By Boxzgrl on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - 05:55 pm:

We're in So Cal and pretty much the same weather as Tink.

By Pamt on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - 07:58 pm:

Snowing like gangbusters right now! We are supposed to get 2-4 inches tonight.

By Luvn29 on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - 08:11 pm:

I'm in Southwest Virginia, and the last couple days have been glorious. Ih the lower to mid seventies. But by Sunday we are only supposed to get up in the upper forties with a chance of snow that night. I hate April here! LOL!

But we're taking advantage of these beautiful days and driving home from school with our top down!!!

By Dawnk777 on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 - 08:44 am:

It rained from 2pm to 11pm! I'm so glad it's done!

By Melanie on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 - 10:42 am:

Ditto Tink. It's been very cold sitting out at the baseball games in the evenings!!! Brrrr....I do hope they are right about the warming trend this weekend!

By Dramamamma on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 - 10:50 am:

Warm here in Houston, we're getting to the mid to high 80's most days but suprisingly it hasn't been to humid. YET. lol...

By Colette on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 - 10:51 am:

30's at night, but it's going to be almost 60 today! My neighbors still have snow in their backyard.

By Hol on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 - 01:37 pm:

In southern New England, we have been having the same type of weather as Dawn in Wisconsin. I bought a new Spring jacket from Lands End that I can't wait to wear, and it has been too cold. I am still in my winter coat.

By Kaye on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 - 04:36 pm:

Christy, you must really be in love if you have missed our humidity! We were at 98% today...YUCK! It has been nice and warm enough to play tennis though, but we really have to hydrate because of the humidity.

By Jackie on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 - 05:27 pm:

This is day 6 of no sun :(..gosh so depressing..It is suppose to get a little warmer this week, but still no sun...

By Tink on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 - 06:27 pm:

Oh Melanie, sitting out at those games is the worst once it gets cold! The fans are so bundled up against the wind that it's hard for us to get too excited about the score, even though it's our dks playing.
