I'm thinking of taking the kids somewhere in the next two weeks. I priced out Fort Lauderdale and that is reasonable but I really don't know anything about the area.

Is this a good place to go? Any other ideas? I just want to relax and be warm.

DH and I sailed out of Ft. Lauderdale a couple of years ago & spent 2 days there, we went to Las Olas Blvd and took the water taxi all over, but we didn't have kids with us. I WILL say it's a beautiful part of the country, and we spent a lot of time down there 3 years ago when my MIL was in hospice nearby.

If nothing else, you will be near the beach. And keep in mind - Ft. Lauderdale is an hour or less from Miami, if you decide to *go south* for a day.

Just wanted to mention though - check out the water conditions before you head to the beach. How long will you be staying down there? Have a wonderful time!
