LOL gifts
By Kaye on Thursday, February 14, 2008 - 04:46 am: | First I know yvonne wins out at Christmas, but i just had to share. My son turns 10 this week. We had a bday party for him last night at one of the big places here. He had 9 of his boy classmates/scout mates. All the same age, all people he has known for years. He got the usual fare, a couple of webkins, some legos, a ball toy, gift certificates, etc. However from one of my closest friends he got this "backyard grilling set". Except it isn't cool like he can use it. But like a toddler set, it has a small small apron, and plastic salt and pepper shakers (think rattles), a towel and small ketchup and mustard bottles. Way too odd. Now my son is a bit odd and loves to pretend and play oddly, but we are always working on being age appropriate with him. She knows this, she is a close good friend and knows my son well. Anyway, I just thought it was the strangest thing. But you know out of 9 gifts the rest were really great. And this would have been a great gift for my 3-5 year old. All the boys around when he opened it were like, what is that?? A purse? What I think that might not be for you..LOL.
