Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive December 2004: It's Finally Snowing here!!!!! YAY!
By My2cuties on Sunday, December 19, 2004 - 06:13 pm:

I am so excited it has been snowing ALL day. I hope we wake up to enough snow to make a snowman (at least a little one), tomorrow. The roads are getting slick and there is no church tonight so me and DH and the girls are going to sip Hot chocolate and watch a movie, while it accumulates outside. (hopefully) :) I am afraid the snow will leave us tomorrow though.. we'll see, but it's always beautiful while it lasts.

That sounds like a good idea, sitting inside. Here their is no snow at all, it was sunny and hot, and the grass is really green. Aparrently it is suppose to get cold here around new years. I would love it if it snowed here but only if I did not have to go to work. Enjoy your snow, I know it will be our turn soon. :)

It's snowing here too! My son's first snow!!

By Dawnk777 on Sunday, December 19, 2004 - 08:24 pm:

We could get 2-4 inches tomorrow. We'll see! LOL!

By My2cuties on Sunday, December 19, 2004 - 09:14 pm:

It quit snowing, but it is bitter cold outside, I am glad the girls got to see the snow though, maybe in a few weeks we will get a real good down poor of it. :) Like I said earlier though it was fun and beautiful while it lasted! Right now it is 13* outside. BRRRRR! Thank God for Heat!!!

By Rayanne on Sunday, December 19, 2004 - 09:34 pm:

WOW!!!! 13* outside!!! It's 59* here and it's only supposed to be a high of 50* tomorrow. I guess I should be happy.:) I would give anything to see snow though.

You're up around Cookeville, aren't you?
Did you get much?
I'm close to Nashville and we only got a few flurries. It was enough to get all of my 3 year olds in SS to run to the window. Then a few minutes later it stopped.

By Marcia on Sunday, December 19, 2004 - 11:53 pm:

We've had snow for a few weeks, and today we had drifts across the road I was driving on. :o)
Speaking of cold, it was 2* when I got up, and it only got worse. It was -13 with the wind chill, and is supposed to drop to -31 over night. Yes, farenheit. That's the kind of cold that makes your nostrils stick together when you breathe. Every breath makes you cough. You have to scrape of the inside of the van windows, and the van doesn't warm up before you get where you're going.
If you want our snow, you might just have to enjoy that warmth, too. LOL

NO SCHOOL today due to snow here in CT. I should have checked before I took a shower. Then I could have crawled back into bed. LOL!

By Rayanne on Monday, December 20, 2004 - 07:28 am:

I hope that all of you who have snow enjoy it, and if you go out that you stay safe.

By Dawnk777 on Monday, December 20, 2004 - 07:31 am:

We are supposed to get snow. The radar shows my whole county in blue, but when I was out with the dog, I didn't see one flake! LOL! It's on the way, though.

By Trina~moderator on Monday, December 20, 2004 - 07:44 am:

We're not going anywhere today. It's only 9 degrees and WINDY so the wind chill is definitely below 0.

By Trina~moderator on Monday, December 20, 2004 - 07:53 am:

AACK! DS just asked to go out and play in the snow. I don't think so! Not unless it warms up A LOT later today. LOL! text description

Our kids are on a 2 hour delay today because of the frigid cold. The temp here now is -2 with wind chill of -20. I am hoping they just cancel school. I hate to see kids going out in this.

By Kathy on Monday, December 20, 2004 - 08:34 am:

I was soooo not looking forward to our first winter in VT. It is snowing like crazy, -3°F, feels Like -25°F. Do you think we had a cancellation? Nope! How about even a one hour delay? Nope! Welcome to Vermont! LOL :)

By Trina~moderator on Monday, December 20, 2004 - 09:06 am:

LOL, Kathy! I hear ya! I grew up in NH and it had to be really bad for school to be cancelled. When I was teaching (in NH) I had a 40 mile commute that usually took about 45 minutes. I remember TWICE driving to work during a snow storm and it took me 2 hrs.. When I got to school they decided to call an early release. I had to turn around and drive back home! Grrr!! The next time we had a big storm I called the principal and told her I was staying HOME. Good thing because they had another early release. LOL! They're kind of wimpy in my town here in CT, but we do have a lot of hills and roads that become very dangerous when it snows. I'm glad our superintendent errs on the side of caution.

Keep Safe and Warm Everyone!

LOL, Kathy and Trina! I grew up in Colorado and it had to snow 4-5 feet in order to cancel anything!! I loved those days though!

By Marcia on Monday, December 20, 2004 - 10:17 am:

It's -22 this morning, with a wind chill of -35.

By My2cuties on Monday, December 20, 2004 - 11:19 am:

Yes, Debbie, I am in Cookeville. We didn't get anything but a dusting...:(. BUT, 45 minutes from here (dh's mom and dad's city) they got 3-4 inches and the side roads are slick. I was delt a bad hand...I live in the part that gets no storms, no snow (except when we get real bad snow storms). On the other side of town they have snow (like 2 inches)...oh well, that's okay. :)

By Dawnk777 on Monday, December 20, 2004 - 11:48 am:

We got an inch or two this morning. Now, it's just blowing around.

By Eve on Monday, December 20, 2004 - 03:33 pm:

Ok, Buuur! DD played outside today and I don't know how they did it. Her boot even fell off and she was walking around in her sock! Buurr! They had a ball though! My poor DH still has to come home and snowblow the driveway. At least we'll have a white Christmas! I'm so happy to have snow!:)
