By My2cuties on Monday, December 13, 2004 - 03:48 pm:

I've not really had any unusual cravings as of yet, what are some of the odd cravings you had while pregnant?

I just can't stand the thought of any beef. Other than that my diet consists of chicken, salad, tomatoes, grapes, and oranges, and I love french fries, I'm Bad I know..:(

By Boxzgrl on Monday, December 13, 2004 - 04:06 pm:

I hated Del Taco and Chinese Food.

I craved sandwiches that consisted of peanut butter, mayonnaise and spanish olives! Yuk! Oh yes and lemons too. DD loves them now!

By Missmudd on Monday, December 13, 2004 - 04:11 pm:

With number one I drank like a quart of V8 a day until my OB told be not to because of the salt. With #2 I couldnt stand pork, even smelling it made me ill. With ds #3 I had to stop off on the way to work and pick up a lemonaid and a 7 layer burrito from taco bell. Usually had taco bell for lunch too. I thought that he would be born saying Hola! #4 was the toast and egg over easy baby. Ate that almost everyday at least once.

By Colette on Monday, December 13, 2004 - 04:16 pm:

#1 black and white frappes, and mozzarella cheese.

#2 fresh fruits

#3 cottage cheese with sunflower seeds and raisins mixed in it.

could not stand any meator seafood during any of my first trimesters

When I was pregnant with my first, the smell, or even the thought, of a cheesesteak made me nauseated. I still couldn't stomach them for many years and now only have one once in a rare while.
Over the course of my five pregnancies, I've craved red meat, oranges, potato chips, ice cream, and fried green tomoto sandwiches (kinda hard to come by in the winter! :) ).

By Cat on Monday, December 13, 2004 - 04:39 pm:

I never really had weird cravings, unless you count ice cream(#1) and popcorn(#2)! I couldn't drink orange juice or eat peanuts with #1 or eat anything with citric acid with #2. I'd get terrible heartburn if I did! I do remember asking dh to go out one night at about 10pm when I was pregnant with #1 because I wanted those fruit topped waffles. He wouldn't do it. :( I still pick on him about that, telling him my dad drove 15 miles one night to get my mom a grapefruit while she was pregnant with my brother! He just shrugs his shoulders.

By Melanie on Monday, December 13, 2004 - 04:47 pm:

Nothing weird, but with ds #2 I couldn't drink enough milk. I would get up at 2:00 in the morning so I could have a nice tall glass. :)

By Emily7 on Monday, December 13, 2004 - 05:07 pm:

With number ds I grossed my dh out with dipping my pickles into peanut butter.
With dd I had to have cherries with EVERYTHING.

By Brandy on Monday, December 13, 2004 - 05:24 pm:

Well i can remember what i didn't like with nick and that was the word chocolate the smell the taste lol i couldn't even get near it but i had gestational diabetes with him alex was another story and i didn't have the diabetes with him lol weird huh...

By Tink on Monday, December 13, 2004 - 05:34 pm:

I craved peanut butter on everything (except pickles, Emily!) with #1. Fresh fruit with #2 and BBQed ribs with #3. I couldn't ever stand the smell of meat cooking with any of them. DH would cook while I was sleeping and even then,if the smell reached me,I wouldn't be able to make it to the bathroom before I started throwing up. I just kept a wastebasket by the bed at night.

By Kolbysmom on Monday, December 13, 2004 - 05:36 pm:

With DS I craved Taco Bell. Also, I loved everything extra spicy. I didn't have heartburn once. With this one it's any type of fruit, especially oranges. I've also been craving seafood.

By Jelygu on Monday, December 13, 2004 - 06:00 pm:

I craved lemons (ate them all the time with a sprinkle of salt) a sandwich from a restaurant that went out of business, and hot sauce. I loved to eat french fries dipped in ranch dressing and hot sauce.

By My2girlygirls on Monday, December 13, 2004 - 06:06 pm:

I craved crab legs with both of mine.
With #1 I craved Dairy Queen Blizzards (Oreo)
With #2 I craved Cheez Whiz (yes, the stuff in the jar)sandwiches and Ginger Ale, I ate that almost every day for lunch. For the first few months, I literally could not eat anything without throwing it back up. DH fixed me a scrambled egg sandwich every day... I couldn't look at the eggs being cooked though.

By Mrsheidi on Monday, December 13, 2004 - 08:24 pm:

Colette- Half of your food list made me laugh because I don't think I've ever eaten any of that, even non-pregnant! LOL! Sounds good though!

What made me puke-
Smoke from a grill
Meat
Exhaust- One time I puked in the school parking lot where I worked because there was exhaust from a school bus...yup, you guessed it, right when the parents were dropping off their kids. What was worse is that I wasn't even showing yet. They must of thought I was coming to work drunk or something! LOL!

Cravings-
Corn Dogs
Fruit
Salad
Ice Cream- during the last month. OK, maybe I didn't crave it..I thought I couldn't get any larger, right? LOL!

By Pamt on Monday, December 13, 2004 - 09:27 pm:

Craved a raspberry filled jelly doughnut once with my first DS. I also ate a lot of chips and salsa.

With my second pregnancy I wanted peaches, which I normally don't like. I also could not stand ground beef and still to this day I can't eat a big thick hamburger or a meatball.

By Palmbchprincess on Monday, December 13, 2004 - 09:39 pm:

I craved onion dip and chips, and loved Ben and Jerry's Double Fudge Brownie ice cream. (I must not have eaten too much though, because I only gained the recommended amount!) I *REALLY* (really, really, really) wanted Butterscotch Krimpet Tastykakes and a REAL cheesesteak. I was dying to go home to the Philly area!

By Feona on Tuesday, December 14, 2004 - 05:48 am:

Golly gee. All I wanted was oranges and tuna fish. Everything else got throw up .

By Yjja123 on Tuesday, December 14, 2004 - 08:31 am:

1st: Salt on everything and lots of watermelon. I actually have very low blood pressure and the DR said the craving was probably my bodies way of getting nutrients it needed
2nd: Tacos, nachos, burritos, etc. The hotter the spicier the better. The funny thing about this is that I never ate hot foods until this pregnancy. My son has adored spicy foods since birth and I tease him about "making me eat them" when he was in my belly.

By Fraggle on Tuesday, December 14, 2004 - 09:02 am:

I craved ice and popsicles. I probably did a number on my teeth chewing on ice. Two things I could not stand were garlic and broccoli.

By My2cuties on Tuesday, December 14, 2004 - 11:23 am:

I don't guess there is any link to boys and meat or girls and fruit then, as I read it is just all different. I craved spicy food with my 2nd dd and I craved sweets with my 1st dd..funny I was able to eat beef with both of them though and this time around I can't seem to eat it or look at it, poor DH..he loves his steaks.

By Angellew on Tuesday, December 14, 2004 - 11:56 am:

Before I was pregant all I ate was chicken. I LOVED chicken! When I was pregant, I was so bummed because the smell of the chicken cooking was sooo good, but one bite would send me running for the bathroom!!! LOL!!!

All I wanted while I was pregnant was spicy food and everything had to have either horseradish or wasabi on it!!!! The more, the better!!!

By Eve on Tuesday, December 14, 2004 - 01:07 pm:

ICE CREAM! I had DH stop to pick me up a sundae nearly every night. No wonder I gained so much weight. LOL! (I hardly ever eat ice cream and we never buy it. Just to give you a clue how nutty it was!LOL)

By Vicki on Tuesday, December 14, 2004 - 02:03 pm:

Fudgesicles and mac and cheese (kraft) with a boiled hot dog cut up and mixed in with it. Don't think I have had either one since I had her 10 years ago!! LOL
