It's up and watered, in the living room. The tree lot where we buy it, cuts a chunk off the bottom, with a chainsaw, before you leave, so we had to get it up fast. We are letting it warm up for an hour before we try to put the lights on, though, since the branches are all tight to the tree. The kids are all excited. We'll take a picture later.

I'm right there with you, Dawn. We got our tree today and put it up. The house is decorated, the presents are wrapped. It's starting to feel more like Christmas! Have fun decorating!

We have an artificial tree- it's the one that me parents had when I was growing up. They just got a new one a couple of years ago and gave me theirs (I'm SO sentimental!)

In May we had to have a new roof put on our house. We already had four layers of shingles (OLD house) and they ALL had to be removed for a fresh new layer of shingles. The old ones had to be scraped off, and all the grit off them came slipping through the slats into the attic-- and ALL OVER my boxes of decorations. Some boxes didn't have any tops to them (I guess I should have gotten new boxes a long time ago) and so many of our decorations have to be cleaned off. It will be SO time consuming, but dh has offered to help. It may be a week til we get the tree FINISHED.

Poor ds- he has been asking "When can we get the tree up?" and "Santa won't leave us any presents if we don't have the tree up cuz, where's he gonna put 'em?"

Paula-That's the dining room. Come Spring, that window will be a door. So, I'll be getting rid of curtains! You can stop by and pick them up? LOL!

BTW-DD woke up this morning and said "Is it still here? Is the tree still here?"

I usually get mine the weekend following Thanksgiving, but we've been gone and I don't have one. :-(

I had tentatively planned on getting one yesterday after we returned, but I literally spent 12 hours doing laundry. I *hope* I can get a tree before this weekend.

I have no idea how I'm going to get everything done in 12 days!

Brandy, your kids did a great job decorating the tree. I love how all the bulbs are on the bottom where they could reach...adorable!

Everyone's trees look great. We got ours yesterday. I would post a picture, but i can't figure out how to resize and would hate to bother karen to post a pic for me right after she got home from her vacation.
