What's your favorite brand of coffee?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive December 2004: What's your favorite brand of coffee?

I'm a big Folgers drinker. We went shopping last week and they had Maxwell House on sale, so seeing as i've never had anything besides Folgers (and Starbucks :) ) I thought i'd give it a try. YUCK! It tastes like burned coffee! Today i'm drinking Millhouse Chocolate Velvet and I feel like i've died and gone to heaven.

What's your favorite?

By Rayanne on Wednesday, December 8, 2004 - 10:18 am:

I love Folgers French Vanilla. YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!:)

I've never had Starbucks, but everytime I am by one, it smells soooo good.

By Kittycat_26 on Wednesday, December 8, 2004 - 10:51 am:

We drink Folgers Breakfast Blend and it has to be my favorite. Starbucks is wonderful as a treat but I don't think I could do it every day.

Millhouse also has a vanilla nut that is just fantastic.

Folgers here too!! Don't like maxwell House at all. Amazing what a huge difference there is between brands!

By Tink on Wednesday, December 8, 2004 - 11:39 am:

I really love Millhouse Cinnamon Vanilla, also. Folgers Breakfast Blend is our usual choice.

By Boxzgrl on Wednesday, December 8, 2004 - 12:12 pm:

We usually get the Folgers Gourmet Supreme. But I don't know, maybe we'll just have to switch to all the flavored brands of Millhouse, I havn't tried one I dont like yet! :)

I like Folgers 100% Columbian, and Kroger brand Columbian is also very good. I love Starbucks out, but it doesn't seem to taste the same at home. :( I don't like most flavored coffees.

We don't drink coffee, but I've always loved the smell of it. My dad was a coffee drinker and it reminds me of when I was little and waking up to the smell of fresh coffee.

Let's talk about Starbucks. I drove from TX to FL this summer, and wanted some Starbucks REALLY bad by the time I got to Mississippi. Finally, after not being able to find one ANYWHERE I ask the guy at a gas station. "We don't have Starbucks here". Turns out, there are none between TX and FL, and I have to know.... are these people CRAZY? It's so good!! I want to open up a franchise in the Gulf States! Anyway, I have Foldger's Breakfast Blend (creepy again, Cori!) but we rarely drink coffee at home. I prefer soda most of the time!

We have Starbuck in FL, and that alomg with Dunkin Donuts coffee (which we don't have in this part of FL)are my favs.

*going into withdrawal just thinking about Starbucks!* Yummee!

We usually have Folgers at home. I think we also get Breakfast Blend.

I love Starbucks cafe mochas and Caramel Mocchiato (a million calories but OH so GOOD!) i also like their breakfast blend coffe.

I am totally spoiled. Dh is particular about our coffee so he buys the beans at a small place near his work www.cafeziba.com

We try a lot of different types of beans but it's almost always from Ziba. Right now we have "Panama Boquete"

In a pinch there are a couple of kinds from Trader Joes that's pretty good.

Ever since we had Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans on our honeymoon six years ago, we've hated everything else. So, we order it six cans at a time off the internet!!! If we have to buy something local, it is usually Starbucks.

Costa Rica La Minita for the DH- Whole bean and it's a medium blend with good aftertaste he says. He's from WA so he is quite spoiled when it comes to coffee.
It's from a place that participates in FAIR TRADE which is VERY important. No need for starbucks to have a monopoly and drive the small countries out of business.
Mail Order

If any of you drink cream in your coffee I have a new favorite afternoon coffee.... it is hazelnut flavored coffee (I buy it at Giant Eagle) with Coffee Mate French Vanilla cream. The combo is soooo yummy!! I wouldn't want it in the morning, but love it in the afternoon or after dinner.

By Boxzgrl on Thursday, December 9, 2004 - 01:59 pm:

That sounds god Vicki! When I had my Chocolate Velvet coffee yesterday, I used Amaretto creamer. It tasted like a chocolate covered cherry! :) Yummy. This morning I had Caramel Truffle!

By My2cuties on Thursday, December 9, 2004 - 09:00 pm:

We buy Folgers Special Blend strong enough for dh when he has to get up at 3 in the morning.

DH called today and said he had starbucks coffee and now I am jealous, I have never had it, I don't think we have starbucks in my city. But you can buy it in little gift bags with a cup and some stuff, for like 30 dollars at Walmart.

We have a place called Poet's and it is the best for Mocha's, espresso's and all of the other "fixes" you need..lol I used to go every morning while I was a senior in school, kinda hard on your wallet though when your paying $3 for a Mocha, But now I go every now and then, wonderful place!!!
