Graco Base

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive December 2004: Graco Base
By Mrsheidi on Tuesday, December 7, 2004 - 03:08 pm:

We have a Graco travel system (Quattro tour I think?) and we are flying to Iowa to visit family. My step mom knows a friend who has a base to put our carseat in but i'm not sure it's compatible...she says it's a graco and it's 2 years old i think.
TIA!

Personally, I wouldn't chance it. Bring your base along anyway. It will make your car seat much easier to install on the plane. Sounds like a convenient idea but you don't know if their base is compatible or if it has been recalled. But that's just me. :)

i went to graco.com and they said that any base is compatible with any other graco base and that they can be used up to 6 years. WOW! we still might bring our own. we tried using our base on the airplane last time but it wouldn't fit. there were "hooks" anyway that allowed us to strap him in without the base.

Although their base might fit you still don't know if it has been recalled. Yes, you can install an infant carrier without the base but it's not as easy or convenient. Whatever you decide, have a nice trip! :)
