What are you still looking for??

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive December 2004: What are you still looking for??
By Vicki on Tuesday, December 7, 2004 - 08:48 am:

I was in Best Buy this weekend and came across a frantic dad looking for Playstation2 for his son. The guy at Best Buy said they are almost impossible to come by. I am so glad that I picked up dd's about 6 weeks ago!! I felt so bad for this dad though. He was saying how this is the only thing is son was asking for and he can not find it anywhere!! My shopping is done and I had no problems at all with any of it. How about you? Any of you getting frantic about a certain toy??

By Kaye on Tuesday, December 7, 2004 - 08:57 am:

Oh gosh, I haven't really even started shopping! My son's bday is late oct, so I know I bought a couple of extra games at that time, but I haven't even looked at what I need...LOL. I have never NOT gotten what they wanted, seems by the 22nd or so people are finished and things start showing back up :)

I wouldnt say frantic. But my daughter wanted that "Bella Dancerella" thing..all the stores are sold out. I refuse to pay 20 dollars more as they are selling on e-bay. I Swear there are 7 pages of them..

Jackie I didn't realize that Bella Dancerella was such a big thing. My DD Got one for her 4th Birthday in Sept.
I am not frantic about anything this year. When my DS who is now 18 wanted the Ghostbuster Firehall I went nuts until my cousin found one in MA for me.
Easy gifts this year:)

We are still looking for a swingset for Rylee. We found one, but it is too expensive. I want a nice one without the price to go with it.

I had trouble finding an XBOX, but ended up getting it online for the same price at Gamestop.com. (BTW, thanks for the coupon, Feona!)

Hmm... PS2 is everywhere around here, maybe that man should make a trip! :)

I'm not looking for anything, were not doing much for presents this year. I'm going to enjoy it while DD is still young!

I'm almost done! :) Basically just stocking stuffers to get now.

I refuse to get caught up in the "must have, will pay anything for" toy thing. The kids have always gotten stuff they wanted, but I've either bought early or bought something else. DD wanted Princess Alexa and the Serafina cat that talks from Barbie's Princess and the Pauper. Already got them. Those are the 2 things she wants the most. She wants everything and would probably be happy with anything so if I hadn't gotten that I could have gotten a number of other things.

And I have found the same thing as mentioned above. The boys would ask for things that were hard to come by. I never stressed about it or got out and fought over them or stood in long lines at 3:30 am to get them. But close to Christmas, we would be in a video game store and there would be 3 on the shelf. So we would wind up with it anyway.

I have barely even started! Still have tons left to do. I always leave it until the last minute. But I kind of like the "hussle and bustle" of all the Christmas shoppers. Our big shopping day will be this Saturday. Then we will finish up the next Saturday which is the Saturday before Christmas. That will be crazy :)
