Is it normal...

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive December 2004: Is it normal...
By My2cuties on Thursday, December 2, 2004 - 12:19 am:

..to not feel fetal movement in the 17th week..grant it I am a little chubby, that may be the culprit of me not feeling my little one.

But I guess I was just wondering when it is normal to feel the baby in your 3rd pregnancy...
All other signs are still there that I am still pregnant, I have naseau, but as long as I eat I am absolutely fine, so the worse part is over, I feel a little knot in my belly, no bleeding of any kind, so I can't help but think everything is okay, I just need some reassurance. Thanks alot!

I only had two and i think i felt the second one further along than the first but i didn't feel it until later in the pregnancy = )

Yeah, it's completely normal. I'm 17.5 weeks. I THINK I've felt the baby a few times, but it's not regular enough to know for sure. My doctor said not to worry until you don't feel ANYTHING by 25 weeks.

The thing that worries me is that I popped out pretty early. But, I haven't grown in the past few weeks. I also haven't gained any weight. I had lost 5 lbs at my last appointment.

Have you scheduled your ultra-sound appointment yet?

By My2cuties on Thursday, December 2, 2004 - 09:02 am:

Nikki, Are you sick? I lost 10 then gained 1 lb. at my last appointment, but I am feeling better now, so I have probably gained. I go to the doctor Tuesday (the 7th) and then I go for my Ultrasound on January 4th.

See, that sounds like me though, I think that I have felt the baby move, but I do not feel it regularly at all, it is just here and there, and I also feel like my stomach balls up every now and then. I really need to go get the what to expect when your expecting book, it helped me through my 1st and 2nd child, but then I got rid of it thinking I wouldn't have another for a while. Silly me. Thanks for the reassurance ladies!

You need to call your OB/GYN and find out if he/she wants you to come in for an early check-up. If you have not felt movement yet, it is probably nothing to fret about. If you have been feeling movement and this is a sudden absence of movement, you should call your Dr.

I go to the doctor in 4 days as stated above... and the movement that I have felt is not regular I will just talk to her when I see her on Tuesday. Thanks
