Cold that won't go away

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive December 2004: Cold that won't go away
By Mrse on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 - 06:02 pm:

Hello everyone, 2 weeks ago, I came down with a cold,and it started with a tickle in my throat, and has gotten much worse. I am coughing and wheezing, and from the coughing, I have pulled muscales in my back. I was put on 2 puffers, steroids, and the other day antibiotic's which has me running to the bathroom, and make me nauseus. I am going to stop taking the antibiotics because I am so spaced out, and up untill a few hours ago I was nauseaed, it suddenly went away, though I felt alot better, then the dizzy spells are happening. I was at work talking to a co worker and I actually fell into the wall I was standing beside. My doctor sent my for chest exray's to see if I have phenomia. Since I have gotten sick, I have been thrown into aniexty attacks, and I am just jittering, and my heart is going so fast. The antiboitics also give you insomina, so I have been waking up at all hours of the night. This morning I woke up with huge bags under my eyes, and wringles like you would not believe, and so pale. I have another doctors appointment on friday, wonder what she is going to put me on this time. I have so much flem in my chest all I do is hack and cough, last night I woke up coughing came out to the living room, and proceeded to throw up all over the floor. Yah this is not an easy cold to get rid of.I do not remember ever a time that I was on so much med's as I am right now. I am going to go lay down as my head is spinning, i have to go back to work again, already did 4 hours, but have to go back for another hour. I sure hope no one else is going through this, it is the pits.

Wow. I hope they figure out what is going on with you!! A friend of mine just got over vertigo which is something that makes you feel dizzy and all of that, but she had no other symptoms with it. I have no idea what all it can come with though.... you might want to read about it online.

((HUG)) I had bronchitis last year and it was misery. I hope you feel better soon! Did they tell you to take any Mucosinex (sp) or anything to loosen everything?

{{{hugs}}} I can definitely relate. I have had bronchitis on and off (more on) for 2 months. I am now on my 4th round of antibiotics and decongestant. I also had bad side effects from the last antibiotic I took. I suffered through it because I have been sick so long. You have a lot of the symptoms that I had. I got myself really run down by not taking it easy. I finally ended up in bed for 5 days before Thanksgiving. All the rest really helped. My doctor finally took some blood and ran some tests which shows I have become anemic(sp?) So, I am taking some medication for that. I wish I had complained more and had my doctor test me before now. I don't know what this stuff is that is going around, but it is terrible. Dh has it now also, but not as bad. I was getting dizzy because I had so much fluid in my ears. I am sure the antibiotic is what is making you sick to your stomach. I had a horrible metal taste, and I was so sick to my stomach. You could also be sick to your stomach from all the mucus. Hang in there. I hope you are feeling better soon. Please try and get as much rest as possible.

It sounds to me like you have bronchitis. All of your symptoms sound exactly what DH had a few years ago. I hope that you get it taken care of real soon. Good luck and I hope you feel beeter soon.{{{{{HUGS}}}}}
