My poor puppy :(

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive November 2004: My poor puppy :(

I have been stressing out over getting his second set of vaccines. So today, I went ahead and took him down to the vet. Well, about 3 hours later I noticed his face swelling and his eyes swelling shut. Poor thing had a bad reaction to his shots. I brought him back in and they gave him some Benadryl, well he threw it all up. Hes only 5lbs so he looks so darn helpless. Gosh, its like having a baby all over again. LOL :)

Poor puppy. :(

Next time he needs shots, have them give benadryl beforehand, or you can give it to him at home before his appointment. It makes a world of difference! But I have to say, I think swollen puppy faces are sooo cute, especially on pugs!

When my dog was a puppy, she had a bad reaction to the wormer. She threw up every 5 minutes for 2 hours. I finally took her in to the emergency pet dr. since it was a Saturday. Cost a bunch, but stopped the vomiting.

I never knew animals could have reactions to shots!! Now that I think about it, it does make perfect sense, but I have never heard of it before!! Ya learn something new everyday! I hope your puppy feels better soon!!
