MSN users- ALERT!

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive November 2004: MSN users- ALERT!
By Lauram on Wednesday, November 17, 2004 - 11:12 am:

I received this email and was suspect of it:

Dearest MSN services client,

This is an automated email-notification sent to your registered e-mail adress.
Please don't reply to it as it will't reach the just department.
-
Recently there have been many reports of fraud activity regarding stolen account information and stolen identities.

This requires a full update on your records matching our database information to suit the future prolongation of account billing.
You will be prompted to provide full and complete information regarding your account with us just so you can identify your online personality.

Please take six minutes to fill out the forms.
Failure to update your online records will result in a halt of your email account and a possible reactivation fee.

Please Push here to update your billing account records.

Thank you for using MSN services,
MSNAccounting Manager.

I forwarded it to DH (that's not dear this time!) and asked him to call MSN and find out if it was a fraud. He filled it out, submitted it (with our cc info) and THEN called MSN. It IS a fraud. We had to cancel our credit card and they are alerting the government. WHY DIDN"T HE LISTEN TO ME! He feels REALLY guilty..... GRRRRRRR!

Anyhow, watch out for this one! It almost got us!
