Batman-Superman birthday party...need suggestions!

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive November 2004: Batman-Superman birthday party...need suggestions!
By Bellajoe on Saturday, November 13, 2004 - 01:27 pm:

My "baby" will be 4 next Sunday. We are having a Superman and Batman birthday party. We are having family and only 2 friends come over. So in all there will be a 5 yr old, 2 four yr olds and a 2 yr old. I want to think of some easy kind of game for them to do. Something that has to do with Superheroes.

I am giving my ds the new Cranium Hulabaloo game for his birthday and plan to have them play that. And maybe have them play Elefun too. But i did want to incorporate the Superhero theme into his party to. Other than just having the Superman/Batman plates and stuff.

Any Ideas? Amy, i think you had a Batman party for one of your boys a while back. Do you have any ideas?

I'm not Amy but maybe you could have riddle that the kids could guess at and lead them from one place to another (like a scavenger hunt) and every place they go they get a little prize and another riddle, like Batman and the Riddler. That would be fun for all of them I think. Good Luck. :) Not many ideas here. Sorry.

I did a batman party when my son was 4.

When they arrived I gave everyone a cape, I bought felt cut it in the shape of a cape, cut slits in the back and weaved ribbon through it. Then I took the ribbon over their shoulders, down under their arm pits and tied it behind their backs, there is no chocking hazard that way. I did them in red and black. Felt is as cheap as buying party hats would be and they loved it.

We ate sandwiches cut in the shape of bats (halloween cookie cutter), fresh veggies and fruit cups. Batman cake

The games we played were:

Batman Training Obstacle course,
I got several boxes and duct taped them together, hung streamers in the boxes. They had to crawl through.

When they got out of that, I had a little mat and they had to turn a sumersault

Next, I had balloons hanging down from the ceiling pretty close to the floor, they had to crawl under those without touching them (they did and we pretended we didn't see them)

Finally they had to balance across a piece of masking tape on the floor.

They loved it but the trick was, all the adults were standing there really chearing them on.

The bad guy wrap up:
I had my neice be the "bad guy" they each got a roll of toilet paper and tried to catch her by wrapping it around her while she was sitting in a chair, they loved it and they used the TP to wrap everyone. It was easy to clean up too.

The bad guy stomp:
I printed off pictures of the villians and taped them to balloons. The balloons had string tied to them and I tied them to their ankles, they tried to stomp each others balloons. Fortunately I didn't have anyone scared of balloons there.

Pinata:
Pinata's are a hit with all ages at every party. I made a pinata like a joker, but they have batman one's at the party store. I NEVER BLINDFOLD THE KIDS, to dangerous, I ALWAYS PUT A MASKING TAPE LINE ON THE FLOOR AND TELL THEM IF THEY CROSS IT THEY LOOSE THEIR TURN. They get 3 hits each and then it moves to the next person. Everyone loves it. Just go over the rules and have them repeat it back to you.

I hope this helped some.

Yes, thank you Crissy! The Batman training obstcle course sounds fun. We are going to have to change it a bit to accomodate it for the indoors and the small amount of space inside. But my ds and his friends will love it.

I saw all these ideas on some website just now, you must have found the same one!

Thanks again!
