Since I have a moment....

... i'll go into more detail about how the Ball went.

Ball morning... not so good. :( Almost didn't go! Went to store while DH watched DD. I was at the store for 5 minutes when DH comes in with a washcloth over DDs head. She hit her head and punctured it and was bleeding, it was a bit deep. Stop shopping, took her to the ER where all she needed was a steri strip, thank goodness. If she needed stitches, I wouldnt go to the Ball. Lesson learned-- DH not a good babysitter!

Drove to the Ball which only took 45 minutes and checked into our hotel. Had my friend do my hair and got back to the hotel just in time to get dressed and put my makeup on before it was time to go. We got the the Ball took our pictures and headed straight for the bar. I love the Marine Corps and am very proud of what they do but you *really* do need a drink to get through the ceremony!! Right, Kristie? :) The ceremony was actually a repetition of last year, they had Marines dressed up in all the service uniforms throughout the Marine Corps history and told a story about each uniform. After the ceremony I had a Tequila Sunrise, the oj got to me so bad that I had to rush out to buy Rolaids. Drinking was done with, I couldnt handle any more heartburn. Dinner was horrible, raw steak, cold veggies, the cheesecake tasted stale. It woke me up at 1 am and I was hugging the toilet, DH came in and just looked at me like "You weren't even drunk!?!?" with a puzzled look on his face. I had to tell him it was the food so he said okay and went back to bed! LOL! Silly Men! Rewind back to the Ball, After the dinner we slow danced to a few songs which is the first time since high school we slow danced. It was very nice. And while all the *young* couples went out to party afterwards DH and I headed back to the Hotel for some R&R. The time change messed with our heads a bit so we were up by 6 which was really 7 is our heads.

But overall it was a nice relaxing night. We enjoyed each other.

LOL, Melissa, that is one thing I do not miss about not going to the M C ball anymore! You DO need a drink or two to get through the presentation part. I tried really hard to listen to the whole thing out of respect, but...My eyes would start to glaze after about 20 minutes and ex would ask if I was ok.

Sorry you had so much happen and it wasn't more fun! How come it cost so much? I don't think we ever paid that much. Was it because of the mandatory hotel stay? SWe never did that either! Maybe you will have more fun next year! Hope dd is ok!

Don't be too hard on your husband. Sometimes the falls and bleeding happened on my watch, too! LOL! They really do survive. When Sarah crashed into the cutting board and cut her face, it was my fault that it wasn't cleaned off and pushed back into the counter!

The food sounds icky. How unfortunate. Ugh! Sorry it was such and adventuresome day! You two really did look nice in the picture!

Sorry about dd, I bet that was not exactly the morning you were hoping for (to say the least). I can relate about hugging the toilet :) it is not fun, sorry you got sick. At least you were able to spend time with DH, that was all worth it. :)
