I voted today :)

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive October 2004: I voted today :)
By Dana on Friday, October 29, 2004 - 04:41 pm:

Well, I headed to the poll at 7:45 and didn't get home til 10AM. Luckily the wait was indoors and most of the line had chairs to sit in. The wait was long, but didn't feel as long as two hours. Felt more like 40 min. Some nice conversations with others in line and had a ball watching the faces of everyone as they came down the long main hall to the back hall and follow it around to see where the actual ending was. Lots of laughs here! Many people turned around and left. However, many of those in line with me, said they did the same thing early this week only to find todays line MUCH MUCH longer. Glad it is off my mind now.

I am glad I live in a smaller community, we may have to wait 1/2 hour max.

This is the first time I have ever had any wait what-so-ever. Usually, I park, walk up, sign in and vote and leave. The lines have been really surprising. I think much of the reason is the early voting places are limited to certain places taking in voters from several presincts. But just incase this is not the case, I wanted to early vote to make sure I didn't miss it on Tues.

I'm used to just walking in, waiting a few minutes, telling my name, voting and leaving. DH and I are going to vote as soon as kids go to school on Tuesday. That is, if we don't decide to vote on Monday.
