What a week! My 12 year old DD is getting over them. She broke out with a few spots last thursday and ran a fever on friday night. Off and on, on saturday and it didn't dawn on me until about saturday night that this is probably what was wrong. By saturday night she had lots. I took her to the redimed on sunday morning and I was right. She has mostly scabs now but, a few with puss here and there. My 15 year old has never had them either so she's probably next. Iv been doing daycare for 13 years and they have been exposed many times before but, never got them

UGH! We went through the pox when my kids were young, thank goodness! Yes, your other DD will probably get them too. Good luck!

Well you can always hope that your daughter had them and didnt notice. I had them when I was 6 weeks old, only had 2 pox, mom wouldnt have even noticed if it hadnt been for my brothers getting them really bad. So maybe you will be lucky.

BTDT in October 1993! First Emily and two weeks later, to the day, Sarah! Not a very good month! The chicken pox vaccine was just coming out, about then, and I hadn't really made a decision whether or not they should get it. Then they got sick and the decision was taken out of my hands! They only have one or two scars that on their tummies or backs. I can't remember anymore and I doubt anyone would let me look anymore! LOL!

Emily was 1-1/2 and Sarah was 4.

I got them when I was 16!!! I was miserable! I had them EVERYWHERE! (I don't think I really need to go into detail) I thought I was immune cuz I had been around them alot as a little kid. I hope DS gets them when he's little.

well last year nicholas had them and alex didn't so i guess you can go without lol..= ( unfortunately alex missed about the same amount of time out of school because his brother had them i guess they assumed alex did?

well she was all scabbed over by thursday. She's back to normal and feeling fine. At least if the older DD gets them we will have a little break in between.

Glad she's felling better. I haven't had to deal with chicken pox, and since both my boys had the vaccine I hopefully won't. My poor mom did, though. All three of us at once! Seemed when my oldest brother started school (he was 6, my other brother was 3 and I was 1) he not only brought that home to share, but the 3 day measles and the mumps, too! What a rough year for my mom! But hey, at least he shared! lol

I had the 3 day measles as a kid and my DM said I was very sick. I had always debated about getting my DD's the chicken pox shot but, thought they were ammune(sp) to getting the chicken pox since they had been exposed so many times and never got them.

Well, now our 15 year old has them. She's actually almost all scabbed over. She got them much worse than the younger DD did. She has a lot on her face. I so wish I would have gotten them the vaccine and then maybe they wouldn't have had to go through the pain.

My DS who is now 18 was vaccinated maybe 8 years ago and did really well not getting the chicken pox, until May of this year right before graduation. But he only had 13 on his whole body and they were not very itchy. So maybe the vaccine does not totally stop you from getting them but he was much better then I was 35 years ago when I had them! My other 2 kids have had the vaccine so we will see what happens in time.
