I'm not pregnant...again =(

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive October 2004: I'm not pregnant...again =(
By Hdelfuego on Monday, October 18, 2004 - 08:27 am:

Hi. I just wanted to update here. I had progesterone results of over 2000 this month. My "nurse" told me I had nothing to worry about. I took a first response early pregnancy test a couple Saturday and again this morning and they were both negative. About 30 minutes after I took the test I started my period.
The main thing that upsets me right now is I just don't understand why I got such high progesterone results while I'm not pregnant.

My doctor wants me to go to a fertility specialist and probably run some tests on my dh but we just can't afford that right now. We're still paying on the expenses from the past three months for all the blood tests and ultrasounds and fertility medicines. I know that we really need to go to a specialist, but when you don't have it...you just don't have it. Anyway, I'm going to call my doctor today and insist on talking to her directly about this, and I'll write back after I talk to her to tell you what she says.
God Bless,
Holly

So sorry, 'im not preggo yet either.

Maybe taking a break and forgetting about TTC for a few month may give you a surprise. I've heard of many people who tried and tried and once they stopped trying they were pregnant. Stress can really have a factor on it. Good luck!

Holly,

I'm so sorry. I have been where you are and it is one of the worst experiences you can have. I will be thinking about you.

Thanks everybody for all the support and hugs! My dh decided to do another semen analysis today, so we should have the results in 3-4 days. No matter what the results are though, we're taking some time off of the meds. I'm going to try to not think about it and enjoy all of the holidays coming up! After all, this is the first year Emma can really enjoy them (she's almost 13 months). We'll probably try again sometime after the first of the year when we have a little more money. Just in case you don't have experience with this, my dr. recommends an IUI which is $500 each month with no guarantee of getting pg. That's really a lot, I think. So we're going to focus more attention on Emma and our relationship with each other as best friends and lovers instead of baby-making partner for a while. I really think this is the best way to go. My dh is pretty depressed sounding. I called him to talk and he just sounded really sad. I'm probably going to get him some flowers. I think that's sweet...he likes it a lot and I haven't gotten him any in a while. He would probably appreciate it. Anyway, thanks everyone!

I have a friend that just had another IUI. It takes a lot out of you.
That is really sweet that you are getting your dh flowers. I think a break is a great idea.

I agree with taking a break, especially to enjoy the holidays. Getting your dh flowers sounds like an excellent idea :)
