We bought a New Home!! I just had to share the news with you all. We are moving From North San Diego to South San Diego in Point Loma sometime in February. The best part is, it's a brand new home. I never thought I would be moving into a home that was NEW. We will have a house located on San Diego Bay and across the street from a 30 acre park with play structures, Soccer field and Baseball field. We will sign all the paperwork next week sometime.
Where we live now my husband has to drive an hour to and from work. But since the company he works for is moving there office into our housing community he can walk to work everyday and come home for lunch and play with the kids! This is such a blessing!
We are going to be broke for a few months but we both think it is well worth it.

CONGRATS!! Will you get to pick out cabinets, flooring, light fixtures, etc.? FUN! I hope everything goes smoothly.

FWIW, this is the second new home we've owned. Although there are definite advantages, there are cons as well. I guess now that we've BTDT twice, I have to say buying a new home isn't all it's cracked up to be! LOL!

The cabinets are white wood so I don't get to pick out those. I get to pick out the tile and carpet for the flooring and I can choose from three different colors of Granite for the kitchen counters. Stainless steal appliances will cost extra so I have to choose between white or black, I am going with white to match our existing refrigerator.

Congratulations!! How exciting for you and your family. Sounds like a beautiful area and your dh is going to love living so close to work. My dh commuted 1-1/2 hours when we first moved to Calf. He was so excited when he got moved to an office that was only 5 minutes away!! Now, when we move, we always make sure we live close by his office.

You will love having your dh come home for lunch. My dh work about a 6 minute drive from home and comes home for lunch most of the time. It is a nice break in the day,and the kids alway love seeing daddy come home to eat lunch with them. Sometimes we even meet him at teh park up the road for a picnic during his lunch hour.

YEAH!!! Congratulations!!! We moved into a new home two years ago. After getting everything finished (yard, fence, etc) we love it! We're looking at moving probably next summer and I don't think we'll do it again, but it is neat having everything be new. I'll bet your anxious for it to be finished so you can move in!

That is great that your DH will be so close to work. What a great location. I wish my DH was close enough to come home for lunch. He drives 30 minutes each way. We've thought about relocating, but we really like the area we are in now.

Andi, I am so envious. I'm still just hoping that someday we can move from the valley to San Diego. My in-laws bought a new house in Eastlake, it is beautiful! Congratulations!!
