Candle warmers

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive October 2004: Candle warmers

Does anyone have and use one of these? It is like a mug warmer, but it is for a candle and you use this instead of lighting it. I just wondered how they worked and if the wax still evaporates (or what ever happens to it) like it does when you light one. I am thinking of getting one of these and was just curious as to how they work before I get one. It would be nice to just plug it in and let it go and not worry about the flame!!

It's funny you should mention this because I just saw them for the first time today! They looked really neat and I'd like to get one.

Sounds cool! Haven't seen something like that around yet.

We have one and it works nicely. It gets really hot though. I kind of prefer to just light them with a match :) And yes, the wax *disappears*.

I have one and I love it! My candles don't turn black, or stink when I blow them out. My candles don't disappear and they last forever.

I have had mine for a couple of years and I haven't lit any jar candles for that long. I even put some of my seasonal scented candles away and get them back out and they still smell nice.

Just a tip for those of you that have a problem with soot and the smell when you blow them out....if you dip the wicks down into the wax and then pull them back up, they don't let off any smoke or smell at all!! They made something call a wick dipper just for this, but a toothpick or fork or something would work too!! Also, keeping your wicks trimmed to 1/4 inch really helps with the soot too!!

Oh, I forgot to say, I am going to look for one of these today! I love the idea of plugging it letting it go!!
