it seems as soon as the kids get back to school everyone gets sick!! I just had to pick up my DS Brett who is 10 from school he has a sore throat, headache and light headed. My DD has been saying since yesterday she had a sore throat and ear ache, so I just called their ped. we have a appt. for 1. Then I just called DS Tom at college and he to sounds terrible with a sore throat. I guess its all over. Brett's class trip is tomorrow and I am really hoping he doesn't have to miss it:( He will be so upset! They are taking a tour of a coal mine and he has been so looking forward to it! Lets just hope its just colds coming on.
Send healthy vibes my way...
TIA:)

We've all been sick. DH and I are better, but DD's cold is still lingering. I hate germs! I don't know what Flu Season will bring! Eeeks.

Sending you +~+~ Healthy Vibes ~+~+

I hope your kids are feeling better pronto!!! I think all this begining of year sickness (here anyway) has some to do with the germs at school and some to do with the weather changing. It's starting to get chilly here! We even have snow on the mountains. Healthy vibes coming from here... :)

I would suggest taking some Vitamin C. My ds takes a chewable one daily. He very rarely gets sick. Also, in October, the level of Vitamin C in your body is naturally at it's lowest level.

I really believe it's the change in season or something. My DD has been in daycare all through the summer, but, this weekend... along with a sudden dip in temperature... she got a gravelly cough and runny nose!!!

So, I expect to come down with something any minute!

I hope your DKs are feeling better soon! :)

Well Brett just got on the school bus to go to school and his class trip. He is feeling better today. We did go to the doctor and she said it is a viral thing that is going around. She said to give tylenol, and rinse and gargle with salt water for the sore throat.
She kept Brett on all the same meds for his asthma and allergies, allegra, singulair, Flovent and albuterol when needed.
The only thing that I disagreed with was she wants to put DD who is 4 on a low dose of flovent for the winter months because she had RSV at age 2 and a nasty cold last winter. She shows no signs of breathing problems and the doctor said with Brett's history she should take precautions. Why should Alissa be on this if she is very healthy now?? What do you think???

By Karen~moderator on Thursday, October 7, 2004 - 08:40 am:

Kathy, I used to use Flovent and Serevent. It's more of a preventive measure, so I understand why your doc wants her to go on it. I'd do it, considering her history with RSV.
