Chris and I bought two baby Red Eared Slider Turtles yesterday and we also got 7 Goldfish. We got them for Rylee and also for me because I have been wanting turtles for a while now. We keep them in the tank and don't let Rylee play with them. We wanted Rylee to name them so I asked her what she wanted to name them and the first word out of her mouth was Yobo and the next was Hota. So our Turtles names are: Yobo and Hota.

How cool. My older DS always had turtles. It was a constant thing to keep the tank clean or they do get smelly:( Just do be careful as I hear they do carry diseases. I never had a problem with DS when he had them.

Very cute! I recently had two red-eared sliders. Mine were named flip and flop! Flop died, and I ended up having to get rid of flip. He was getting WAY to big for me to handle! But I love turtles, and wish I still had one.
Just be sure to wash your hands after handling the turtle or touching the water. If you do that, you won't have to worry about any of the diseases they carry.
Have fun with Yobo and Hota, they will be so much fun to watch swimming around their tank!

He's cute, when I was little, we had turtles, someone told my mom that they carried diseases, so she......... ahhhhhhhh flushed it down the toilet. How mean eh? They were really small, if you are wondering, not as big as what the picture shows above.

When I was growing up my friend's brothers had turtles. One day while I was over their house the tank was empty and the turtles were no where to be found. We searched high and low. Then we looked at at one of the boys. He had a turtle tail sticking out of his mouth!!!!! EEEWWWWW! It was extremely gross but very funny! :)

We had a box turtle for a few years. We loved him! He just moseyed around the house most of the time. We would stick him in the tub for some water and veggies. We found him dead in my DH's shoe one morning.:( I still maintain that it was the stench that killed him! :)

How big of a tank do you have for the 7 goldfish?

By Rayanne on Wednesday, October 6, 2004 - 08:49 am:

It's a 25 Gallon Fish Tank. The turtle in the picture looks HUGE, but they are really only the size of a tealite candel, maybe a little bigger.
