Extreme Home Make over show

Did anyone watch this last night?? I have watched every show and this one had me in tears the whole show. I have a question about the show though..... Through out the entire show I was wondering if my dh would feel that way if something happened to me. I know that he loves me, but my lord, that woman was the world to him!! Do you think he talked like that to her while she was alive. Is that the way marriage is supposed to be??? It literaly was like his heart was just ripped out of his chest. That was the deepest love that I think I have ever heard expressed in my life. Are all marriages like that?? LOL I really don't mean to sound silly here, but it got me to wondering. I hope someone watched the show and knows what I am trying to say. I am not questioning my dh's love (or mine for that matter) but I guess I am wondering how you get it that deep, if that makes sense.

Yes, Encinitas is about 15 minutes from us and Bill Larson the contractor who worked on the house is my good friends husband, so that made it even more special to watch :)

I cried the last 30 minutes of the show.

Well, tell him from me that he did a fantastic job on the first house he ever built. I couldn't believe that!! It was just an amazing show from start to finish. You could just sense the love through everyone involved in it.

I bawled me eyse for the whole show too. What a great show. Everybody wins.....the family...Sears....the helpers.....the designers...volunteers.....the producers of the show......the audience.....

I was trying to explain to Dh how I felt about the show but I couldn't put it into words...

It made me wonder how he would feel if I died too!! LOL!!!......
Did you see the little boy(Ithink he was the second youngest...the Lion King boy)...as they walked through the house he kept putting his hands together and saying "thank you God!"...that made me cry so hard because when we were growing up we were very poor(single mom)....and I used to pray to God for a nice house or furniture or a good job for my mom or for food....so I knew EXACTLY what was going on in that young boys mind...

Then I watched Growing up Gotti.....what a bunch of rotten spoiled bratty boys.....(hope the mob doesn't come after me LOL).......

I LOVE Extreme Home Makeover........

I cried most of the way through it. I couldn't figure out why I was so emotional, I'm not PMSing but I think it really was that moving! When he talked to the drawing of his wife so unashamedly, I couldn't believe the love he has for her. I think some people have a larger capacity for love, just like some people have a larger capacity for patience or a greater artistic talent. He seems like the kind of man that fosters the natural ability that he has to love people. It was really incredible. I love that show so much. It is so uplifting.

I will let him know.:)

Andi, if you know Bill Larson, then tell him he ROCKS! He did such an amazing job on that show last night! He just seems like such a nice, easy going, mellow guy!
That family had me in tears. The kids were so nice, and the Dad just so missed his wife.

By Mommmie on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 - 10:34 pm:

Great show! Great family! Great new house! Great community! Great kids!

Sortof blows a hole in the *nightly family dinner table* theory. They didn't even have a table, yet what a GREAT family!

I caught the very end of it and he did do an excellent job.

The love for his wife was really deep. How sweet :)

Don't worry Brandy. I didn't see it either. I wish I had too.

By Mommyathome on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 - 09:34 am:

We saw this a couple of days ago. Maybe it was replaying last night? The one with 8 kids and the mother had died?
What a wonderful, wonderful family. The house turned out beautiful!! I was so happy for them.
DH and I were both in tears by the end of the show.
DH is very vocal about his love and feelings towards me......after watching this show I realized that I'm not that vocal at all. Of course I say "I love you" all the time, but I never really explain it. I'm going to try better....especially after watching this show!

By Mommyathome on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 - 09:37 am:

ok....I just realized this topic was actually posted last night. So, I guess I watched the same episode as everyone else did on Monday night LOL

By Vicki on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 - 09:46 am:

Was it on Sunday night or Monday night? LOL Oh the days just all run together anymore!!

By Andi on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 - 10:04 am:

It was on Sunday Night where I live.

By Bellajoe on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 - 11:34 am:

I saw it Sunday night too. I missed the first hour, i was watching something else. But i did see the last hour and OMG did I bawl my eyes out! I always cry when the family sees the house, once the bus is moved. This time i cried the entire time they were looking at the rooms, every time i saw one of the kids cry, bawled when the dad was talking to the painting of the wife, even more when the kids came in and saw him looking at the painting. It was just amazing! The builders and designers etc. always have their hearts in the job they are doing and do a great job at every house!

By Monicamomof3 on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 - 11:50 am:

OMG- all 5'11" , 230lbs. of my wrestling husband was crying! LOL! For some reason, the homemaker statement he made "to his wife" really got my dh!

By Mommyathome on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 - 12:06 pm:

LOL....so maybe it was Sunday. Well, whenever it was, I watched it!!
